SFJ6 is a project of 102 dwellings designed to adapt to the complexity of the city, solving several urban problems and generating quality public spaces in its surroundings. The building is integrated into the city as a folded volume that embraces the disparate existing buildings, taking special care of the contact areas and adapting its ground floor to the complex topography of the site in order to generate the greatest points of contact with the city and revitalise the public space. This single-family house is located in the Region of Murcia, in a residential area of semidetached, modern and eminently white houses. From a distance, its clear and avant-garde appearance seeks to integrate the house with the rest of the surrounding dwellings. A travertine-effect porcelain tiles offer this clear and luminous vision, but in its proximity, it confers the texture, warmth and naturalness typical of stone materials. Harmony between Architecture and Nature Located in the northeast of Madrid, in the exclusive Puerta de Hierro colony, the project includes four residential blocks with two apartmentes in the ground floor, a first floor apartmente and two duplex penthouses. These redidences offer large spaces, balconies, a private swiming pool and gardens, designed to ensuer privacy in all rooms. The project by Búhoblanco Arquitectos is located in a residential neighbourhood where the architecture is traditional. Two superimposed volumes dynamise the façade of the Casa Mirador, with the upper volume attracting the eye. The opposite occurs on the rear façade, where it is the ground floor volume that advances, generating the terrace space and spatially opening up the courtyard. Visiting the island repeatedly in the process of looking for the right plot of land we were impressed by traditional stone houses in cities and the countryside of Mallorca. 'Pedra en sec' is a very simple and inexpensive local dry stone construction technique and it has been used here since prehistoric times. In 2018, it was declared Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO. Learning from local architecture, the house re-uses its traditional elements in contemporary typology and incorporates them along with a simple energy efficiency concept based on natural ventilation and heat accumulating properties of its massive walls. A family building that originally dates on XVII-XVIII centuries and which had suffered several interventions. The floor plan was used for many years as a blacksmith workshop, what gives to the building a special character. Stone Box was designed to resolve the issues of an exterior space in a large house that had fallen in disuse. As always occurs in large gardens, they are not useful if they cannot be fully enjoyed day to day. For this reason within the first visit the client confided in us to create a connection space that organizes the garden giving it vitality and functionality that up to the moment it didn’t possess. The owners want to break with a constrained and standard housing model for another adapted to their way of understanding and enjoying their home, without having to change their location in the city.   The creative process is based on the owners wishes wich will be the backbone of the final proposal.   The house proposal establishes a clear separation between the day area and the night area, which currently did not occur. Talking Brains is an exhibition that creates experiences, incites imagination and shows how language connects to our biology. It has a fully immersive design that walks the visitor from the origins of mankind and language to their complex evolution. It’s an experience that goes beyond the exhibition walls thanks to the use of RFID cards. This technology allows to identify visitors and personalize their experience: the contents are shown in the language of choice and the installations can be enriched with personal data like date of birth, experiments results or the scores of games.
