FRONDAL

With a site of moderately marked topography, this house adapts and permeates very well with its context. It was conceptualized under the premise of seeking a single level in the majority of the house, making it a discreet and private project. Both elements are subtly isolated by a common patio. Tulum Train Station

The station sits in the beach resort of Tulum, in the Mexican Caribbean, along the Riviera Maya. The primary goal in the design process was to push the sustainability agenda to the foreground and to find in that optimized performance a narrative which would speak about the qualities of pre-Hispanic Mayan Architecture through the use of light, shadows, patterns, materials and vegetation. AIDIA STUDIO   One of the key elements was to minimise the footprint of the station, so after exploring different spatial configurations, an eye-shaped footprint, widest at the centre, where the main functions converge, seemed the most efficient use of space. Parish Church in Pueblo Serena

The church’s main entry opens right onto a plaza, which functions as an annex to the church. Above the entry canopy, the façade is a large flat wall, an emphatic and square plane, declarative of the otherness of the space within: the sacred space of the church interior. The spaces of the temple represent the development of an architectural language with a long history, speaking of continuity but also renewal. The volumetric concept of the church derives from traditional church plans, and the design presents recognizable architectural features taken from early Christian temple prototypes, such as the bell tower, the stained-glass windows, the frontal altar, the baptistery, the choir, the three chapels and the lateral courtyard.&nbs...
