The addition to Liljevalchs Konsthall is reserved without cowering. Its posture is that of a discreet aide attending to the existing art gallery. A small, precisely tailored operation. One hundred seventy square meters of glass roof let the whole sky into the building. It’s all rather simple. A square filled with molded skylights. Two meters wide and two meters high. Two straight walls and two leaning. All the way up in the building a thin glass membrane separates inside from outside. Below, the light plays exactly the way we want it. The Courtauld Gallery has re-opened after the biggest redevelopment since it first moved to its magnificent 18th century home, Grade I-listed Somerset House in the Strand, in 1989. Cultural-sector specialist architects and designers Nissen Richards Studio were charged with the interpretation of the new visitor experience for the project, considering the entirety of the visitor journey from arrival, through all three levels of gallery space, culminating in the extraordinary LMVH Great Room. In 1896 the jurist and art-lover Alexandros Soutsos bequeathed his large art collection to the Greek State. At the time, no one could imagine how this collection would be used. However, this action played key role to the creation of the “National Gallery of Greece”, that was established in 1900 in Athens and became one of the most iconic buildings in the cultural history of the country. The Himalayas Museum was designed to be situated within the existing Himalayas Centre designed by Arata Isozaki. As a “found” space — a raw unfinished concrete interior with soaring 15m ceilings — it had a particular power and resonance with the field of contemporary art. The MNHA is located in the oldest quarter of the city of Luxembourg, where the historical architecture is part of the national heritage. Lukas Roth, Cologne Up to 1997, the museum was housed in a group of ancient buildings, whose limited surface was ill suited to the exhibition of new collections and to a modern approach to museography. This building housed an art gallery. The gold façade changes depending on the incidence of light. In order to create a sense of visual harmony with the façade, lamps and rainwater pipes were fitted in metallic gold; the base is painted in anthracite at the border to match the windows. Bombas Gens is an old industrial building with an unquestionable social-historical value and one of the rare remaining examples of the industrial architecture of the thirties. Its Art Deco façades and architecture make it a special, unique location for some new uses according to today needs. Exhibition designers and cultural sector specialists Nissen Richards Studio have joined the creative team charged with the complete renovation of the National Portrait Gallery over the coming three-year period, until its re-opening in spring 2023.  The large-scale transformation project, entitled Inspiring People, is set to transform the National Portrait Gallery.
