Created by LAAB Architects for the Science in Art exhibition along the Central Harbourfront promenade in Hong Kong, Harbour Cup is an interactive artwork that integrates sports, science, and art in one. DCinematic Otto Ng Harbour Cup is similar to the table soccer game we all know, with some exceptions—there is no goal on either side and there is no definition of teams.  The players need to negotiate and decide how they want to play the game, be it competition, or collaboration. MASSminors is a small stylish bar right in the heart of Zhujiang New Town, a booming central business district of Guangzhou.  With 128-square-meter of internal space, architects Ofd conceived — “shop in shop” — a sketchy requirement of the client into a trio consisting of MASS Lobby, Leap Tunnel and minors Lounge, three stages with mixing design narratives and multifold space-time settings. Taking Apollo and Dionysus as aesthetic symbols, Nietzsche explored the dialectic spirit state: dreaming and intoxicating, illusion and ego. The space's name - Blazing Night, consisting of contrasting imagery. Therefore, we take the dialectic spirits as a spatial metaphor from the perspective of time. Blazing Night is based on a compound model of a cafe by day/a bar by night to illustrate the vision of interacting with the future. After creating two successful Tap Rooms serving their craft brewing innovations, we partnered with The Boston Beer Company again – this time to transform their corporate office. Boston Beer asked us to help them create a more cohesive office environment that would connect and showcase their brands while fostering community and collaboration in their home base. Elegant and dignified interior of the company with premises of the Baroque Wratislaw Palace in Malá Strana of Prague is a sophisticated collage of materials, dim colors, both new and historic furniture and accessories and, last but not least, valuable original works of art. Using both dim and distinctive earth tones, we structured the space into several rooms interconnected into the rich emotional form. Grey sand paint of the walls of the rooms are complemented by distinct green and dark claret painting of some of walls. THIS STREET, COMPRISES AN ATTACHED ROW OF FIVE VICTORIAN BRICK SINGLE STOREY HOUSES.THE ORIGINAL FRONT PART OF OUR CLIENT’S HOUSE CONSISTS OF A CORRIDOR ON THE NORTHERN SIDE WITH ACCESS TO THE TWO BEDROOMS ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE. THE REAR PART HOUSES THE LIVING AND DINING ROOM AND WAS BELIEVED TO HAVE BEEN AN EXTENSION ADDED AT A LATER STAGE.THEN THE KITCHEN AND BATHROOM UNDER THE SKILLION ROOF INCLUDING THE REAR DETACHED METAL CLADDED GARAGE WERE ADDED AFTER A PERIOD OF TIME. Starting with a raw space, this project was for clients with a spectacular collection of Art Deco furniture and art.  We wanted to integrate the antique pieces purchased across the world and marry them to a brand new condo in midtown Toronto. So the concept was to create a home for their collection, creating a balance between Art Deco and contemporary design.  We brought elements and flavours and the client’s affinity for the period, and integrated it into today’s living, so that it also feels modern and luxurious and usable.  More
