The renovation of Kaunas Town Hall transforms one of the city's most historically significant buildings into a modern museum space, seamlessly integrating contemporary exhibition design with architectural heritage. Dating back to 1542, the building has undergone multiple renovations, with the latest major reconstruction occurring in 1973. Renovation of aspacious duplex, located in the heart of the historic center of Milan. On the lower floor, living room, kitchen and study are designed as spaces in sequence delimited by full-height glass partitions, which, once opened, leave the perimeter wall free, creating suggestive perspectives that embrace the space in its entirety. The project is located in the commune of Oppuurs. The house is part of a series of four equal houses of the 90's. The house is semi-open. Characteristic of the house is the high roof volume, which today is only used as 'attic space'.  Today the ground and second floor are used by the residents. The high, generous roof structure creates the opportunity to include the current attic space with the rest of the house. Removing the existing staircase that currently connects the ground and first floor is a first step in this. The attic in the multi-family house in the Old Grunwald district was adapted into the modern and functional flat and work studio. The initial attic space was characterized by various heights of the rooms (some of them very low) and with preserved beautiful wooden ceiling and floor. The places with low ceiling were converted into a bedroom area, these with high came into existence as a kitchen, a dining room and a workspace. All rooms are multifunctional and every room enables view through the whole attic. The way the rooms were arranged, that is the lack of a corridor and an openly situated kitchen allows to compose the functionality of the studio accordingly to the daily needs of its user. The renovation project of an apartment in the historic center of Milan, located on the seventh floor with simultaneous expansion on the roof terrace, has placed us in front of the now increasingly recurring theme of "building on the built". The design choice consists in the realization of a volume, almost entirely in glass and polished steel, set back from the façade wire for its vertical components and instead re-aligned to the horizontal ones. The attic in private house from the ‘80’s gained modern look and extra space with an abundance of natural light thanks to the FAKRO EDT dormer. Nowadays, the inhabitants can enjoy a beautiful view of the polder of Amsterdam. The house is situated in a row of similar houses in the city of Zaandam (near Amsterdam). All right, all right! Maybe not exactly from the roof, but we did start the design of this home right beneath it at the top floor. It wasn´t out of a whim, however. Here, at this level, the client wanted to concentrate all comfort features and special amenities of their new home within a generously sized - double height, mixed use area to be devoted to entertainment, relaxation, play, reading, painting, music, guitar playing and guests hosting.
