The design ethos focuses on renovating the existing home to incorporate a new study, bedroom, ensuite, and dressing room without compromising its historical integrity. A first floor has been constructed, including a small library, two bedrooms and a shared bathroom. Additionally, the project includes the construction of a basement to cater to guests and extended family members, although building it posed a challenge due to its proximity to the water table. The objective of the Espresso Alchemy café design in Hong Kong's Harbour City mall was to visually connect two disjointed but adjacent spaces. Metagram inserted vividly coloured architectural forms in order to create this iconic design. Metagram The site located in Tsim Sha Tsui, a key tourist district of Hong Kong, was one without clear boundaries and was surrounded by much visual clutter, making it difficult to control the design experience. Metagram Comprised of two sections, the primary tenancy was narrow, oddly shaped, and visually open to a vast, mostly inactive common mall area providing good visibility but little privacy. In the 1900s, Brussels’ Gare Maritime was a freight station. It is part of the Tour & Taxis site in Brussels, which used to be one of the world’s largest rail and river hubs for freight transport. After it was bought by the developer Extensa in 2015, around 45,000 m² of former industrial buildings were renovated and transformed into a multifunction office and retail complex with events facilities. The original metal framework of the buildings was conserved, together with the large windows. To avoid the buildings turning into hothouses due to the sun’s rays on the glazing, exterior ZIP roller blinds, custom-made by our customer Renson, were installed. Sat within an old site with buildings aging up to 150 years, this modest multipurpose hall is located at the heart of the old Part of Tehran, in Laleh-Zar, once upon a time the Champs-Élysées of a Tehran. With a double height, the hall at its lowest level occupies the basement and at its highest the ground floor of an old carriage house. It takes up an area of approximately 110 square meters. The sheer contrast of an immaculate and engaging modern space with the old context and fabric of the site draws the audience to an uncanny sense of belonging and calmness. Pier 8 is artificial land, created on what was once the water of Burlington Bay, in the City Hamilton, birthplace of Bruce Kuwabara. West Harbour is the west end of Lake Ontario which was once a glacial lake, Lake Iroquois. KPMB curated an integrated team of four local and national architects to prepare the winning design competition for a master plan vision to transform Pier 8. The design was inspired by the home featured in the 1955 Alfred Hitchcock thriller, North by Northwest. It is a modern design with an overall "Frank Lloyd Wright" feel. Open spaces with high ceilings and large windows, the home backs up to the Hogg Bird Sanctuary and Bayou Bend. The pool is also custom designed to the slope of the property featuring two levels and three waterfalls. Landscape Design Workshop has won a 2016 Florida Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects design award in the Residential category for their project Nexus Sawgrass.  A village green sits at the heart of Nexus Sawgrass, a 23-acre pedestrian friendly community designed to inspire the residents to enjoy and explore the outdoor environment. The project is located in the City of Sunrise with 500 rental apartments; 200 apartments in a wrap-around 4 story building with an attached garage and 300 units in 9 garden-style buildings. The community also includes a 10,000 square-foot clubhouse building. The community provides its residents with a resort lifestyle. It is organized around a large open space, a... Landscape Design Workshop has won a 2018 Florida Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects design award in the Residential category for their project AMLI Sawgrass Village. The project site is located in the City of Sunrise with two residential buildings and a parking garage tucked in between. The 350-apartment community also includes a free standing leasing center, a dog park and intimate garden spaces. Each building is overlooking an interior courtyard. Landscape Design Workshop has won a 2018 Architecture MasterPrize™ Design Award in the Landscape Architecture / Outdoor Designs category for their Veranda at Plantation project. This lush tropical ‘urban jungle’ courtyard forms the social hub of the apartment complex and helps to mitigate the urban heat island effect.
