Landscape Design Workshop has won the 2017 American Architecture Prize in the category of Landscape Architecture / Outdoor Design for their project Las Olas Beach Club pool and amenity deck. The 35,000-square-foot amenity deck serves the residents of a 29-story luxury ocean-front condominium overlooking the famed Fort Lauderdale beach in South Florida.
The amenity deck is composed of two connected levels. The upper level is located on the 6th floor and is built over a 5-story parking garage. The lower level is built on top of an adjacent historical building. Landscape Design Workshop focused on maximizing the magnificent ocean views while fusing together planting and hardscape to create a series of well-defined outdoor spaces.
