Barber shop

This project flew very fast. The client demanded to complete the construction in 3 months. We developed the concept for 1.5 months and spent another 1.5 months on construction work. The budget was small so we tried to create a unique space using simple materials. The construction process was very stressful but we managed to finish the construction on time and the client was very satisfied. The main idea was to open in Odessa a place unlike other barbershops. We tried to cross out all unnecessary details from the concept, create pure minimalism and shift the focus from the interior to the people who work in it, because real professionals work there. More

The shop is a “Barber Shop” located in the city of Udine in northern Italy. The activity that has been handed down from generation to generation started back in 1962. After opening in the following years, they had two historical redevelopment interventions, always purely aesthetic, until the last generation of sons decided to completely evolve the look. The idea is to broaden the horizons from hair and beard cutting to commercial retail sales of personal care products and outfits.   From this desire comes the need to expand and combine two commercial spaces, those of cutting and that of sales. "Behind a grand Project there is a grand client"Barber's Club consists in the evolution of a traditional barbershop concept, perpetuated by a lineage of barbers, dated from 1929. Situated in Plaça Banc de S'Oli 09, Palma de Mallorca.During all phases of the project, the fusion or synergy between traditional elements, lasting in time, with avant-garde materials has been sought. Seeking to not only offer a service, but an unrepeatable experience for the client.The place has been designed as if it were a traditional razor. Where the softness and warmth of the velvety parament stand out, like the handle, with the millimeter precision and coldness of its blade, represented by the metallic mesh that covers and delimits the surface of the place.A... Concept/colour scheme/materials – the aim is to create a manly interior, both with the colour scheme and the materials. Static modifications have already been implemented in the current space. Massive steel transoms were the right element for an ideal manly industrial. The position of these load-bearing elements defined the whole layout of the space. The steel elements have been supplemented with natural oak furniture, combed plaster and retro tiles. Layout – the delimited space allowed division of individual functions without notable structural interventions.
