“Casa Pérgola” was created from the clients need of ample space to receive friends and family. Large balconies are a key feature of this family orientated home. With contemporary style, driven by tropical architecture and open spaces, the house benefits from blurred interior and exterior boundaries. This beautiful, south facing, ten-acre site on Useless Bay sits at the southern end of Whidbey Island. Our clients wanted a home to accommodate large groups of friends and family—a place in which to celebrate weekend gatherings over food and shared time together.   The focal point for the home is the dramatic, two-story great room. The space—which includes a dining area at one end and a generous seating area at the other—is book-ended by two identical national park-scaled stone fireplaces. The residence is a newly constructed penthouse by the sea. Our advice was requested when the building was under construction. We intervened with a partial internal redistribution and assisted the Clients in the choice of finishes and furnishings. The guiding star of our work has been the Client’s strong wish to be able to enjoy the environment with a refined atmosphere and at the same time fresh and informal, which recall the proximity to the beach and the sea in with the light amplified through natural textures and with space for furnishing elements with a strong personality. At the first inspection, the large apartment located on the top floor of a building from the sixties appeared as a collection of large rooms where time had stood still; a dark and dismal environment despite the spaciousness, not only because of the winter light. The challenge was launched: to divide the large housing unit to obtain two units that, with half the space but multiplied light and functionality (without making changes to existing window surfaces!), conveyed through every detail the privileged feeling of staying at the beach. Designed for a business family who spends a lot of time traveling, with a culture of fluidity and continuity of energy in their lives. We begin by understanding the movement of people through body expression, using photography as tools. A picture of a sleeping person describes her as static, resting and distributing all her weight on the bed, placing most of the surface of her body on it. A photo of a person walking, is fixed, but describes a movement. The person distributes his weight through the legs, reaching the feet that touch the ground with very little surface. The project until in construction, is a private beach house in La Jolla condo, at 101 km south of Lima, Peru. The land is in the second row, has long form, measuring 30 meters. Depth x 10mts. wide and bordered by a neighboring lot attached to the right, parking entry is provided by the rear facade and pedestrian entrance coming from the beach by the side facade. The house is created for three families of friends, parents and children with wives and grandchildren. The project is a private beach house, located in the condominium Mast in Paracas, a 250 kms. the capital of Peru (Lima). It is in an area of 467.27m2 irregularly shaped front row with ocean view. The house was designed for a friends married couple with two teenage daughters, construction has 448.90m2 and a free area of 186m2. He started considering Land condo, we know that even at this time there is no nearby houses, at some point it will be, and if the house starts close to the ground or buried would shrink outdoor spaces designed as sidewalks, gardens, boulevards, for this reason we choose the house is floating and let see down of the floor, without narrowing the perception of outdoor spaces.
