The project is a private beach house, located in the condominium Mast in Paracas, a 250 kms. the capital of Peru (Lima). It is in an area of 467.27m2 irregularly shaped front row with ocean view.
The house was designed for a friends married couple with two teenage daughters, construction has 448.90m2 and a free area of 186m2. He started considering Land condo, we know that even at this time there is no nearby houses, at some point it will be, and if the house starts close to the ground or buried would shrink outdoor spaces designed as sidewalks, gardens, boulevards, for this reason we choose the house is floating and let see down of the floor, without narrowing the perception of outdoor spaces.
Challenges: The challenges of the project were: 1. Parents and daughters have a common space of meeting to share together, but also a semi-private where they can read a book or think and rest. 2. Achieve transparency from the rear entrance of cars to the front. Just you enter the house with the car you can see the sea. 3. Having large spaces, open and connected, to win many lighting, not wasting m2 in passages and use them within each environment. 4. Having few columns to not interrupt the view, like not having beams that yield continuous ceilings. 5. Important sculptural elements inside the house that mark milestones representative for each space has a theme, such as the cylindrical staircase waterfall pool, Jacuzzi pool, room-fireplace. 6. Design a sculptural staircase connecting the second floor and make highlight in the house. 7. Use the mandatory withdrawals to create spaces that contribute to the house and allow a good volume. 8. Design Open House Exterior considering the strong winds with sand in Paracas.
Windows and Doors: We do not believe in windows and doors for interior spaces, is why the income of each space is not designed as a door highlights and easy to identify, but as a transfer of the wall, where memory works better before the view.
The doors are easy to identify in the project are to take presence in the house and let feel the passage to a different space.
In the project there are no windows, all are screens, is to communicate the outside with the inside and vice versa, allows us to have spacious and clean landscape view.
structure: The structure of the house should respond to the architecture of large spaces with large distances, for it was necessary to design the structure of the house and a large table with legs that hangs below her room. This was possible thanks to bracing columns that support the slab from the rafters of the second floor.
Bedrooms: All bedrooms were designed with bathrooms included, this gave us a premise for interior design. Therefore it was decided to remove brick walls between the bathroom and bedroom, and tempered glass set with sandblast vinyl for privacy without removing light, was an important point because it helped the perception of space is wider.
Social Area: (terrace-living-dining-kitchen-living) It is designed as open plan, with constant contact with the outside, both for use by parents and daughters limiting elements are the side walls and no spaces that can give the feeling of clogging. The glass shower doors that open and close, hiding inside the walls, to interact with the space depending on the number of people they are and the required privacy, so parents can be in the room terrace and daughters in the watching TV. The location of the staircase between the dining and living helps to have a large presence as important sculptural element and helps to give privacy to the dining room without removing the ocean view.
