Nyack
Perched atop a steep hill bordering the Hudson River, the Nyack residence is a custom-designed modern home that expertly integrates premium timber windows to enhance both views and performance. Strategically placed, these timber windows frame stunning vistas of the Tappan Zee Bridge stretching across the Hudson River. The homeowner, a glazing expert, made the selection of timber windows and doors central to the architectural vision, prioritising aesthetic and functional benefits.

Robin Wood
Robin Wood is coming to Centrumeiland in IJburg, Amsterdam: a high-quality urban block ‘cut from wood’ that embraces a tiny forest. A striking beacon that forms a playful, open connection between a lively city street and a pleasant residential neighbourhood.
Here a free-living environment is created, where the green invites you to move. The building is like the trees; made of wood, self-sufficient and circular. Its modular construction enables both large and small, flexible reconfigurable, and linkable dwellings which are easily adaptable over time. Robin Wood gives something back to the island’s residents and invites them to contribute to their own living environment.

Y House
The design and construction of the Y House has evolved over a 5 year period, the result is a bespoke home designed to the specific needs and requirements of the client. The site is a large corner plot in the garden of the client’s existing home. It has extensive views through pine trees, over fields to the west and north, and residential neighbours to the south and east. Adjacent to the site on two sides is a 3m deep storm drain. This constraint resulted in a pile foundation design solution. The building form and layout evolved through close collaboration and discussion between the client and architect. The Rising Path
The Rising Path is a competition winning structure for Cambridge University Botanic Garden. A dynamic spiral, the 96-metre long Rising Path features an interpretation hub and 3-metre high elevated viewpoint, designed to inspire visitors to explore the Garden’s Systematic Beds with fresh eyes and greater knowledge.
In the summer of 2016, CDC Studio was invited to participate in a limited design competition held by the Botanic Garden and University of Cambridge Estates. Our winning solution provides an accessible viewing platform overlooking the systematic beds, with an exhibition area below.
