The EA Studio Residence was designed to integrate the home and studio of a visual artist, focusing on privacy and flexibility. The spaces are organized in distinct levels: the studio is on the upper level, the social area half a level below, and the private area half a level above. Internally, the connection is made through an atrium, while an inundated garden separates the two functions externally. The structure blends concrete blocks, metal profiles, and wooden slabs, creating a simple and functional aesthetic with a strong emphasis on natural light. Casa Montezuma was designed for a plot located in front of a large, tree-lined, sloping square. The presence of a pre-existing single-story building and the visual integration with the square were the key factors in the project's development. Son of Iemanjá, Father of Saint, Son of Candomblé... it could be a story about religion of African origin, as well as the elements coming from terreiros (houses and community complexes) to give rise to a shelter. Refúgio do Sol, as the name suggests: a small cozy shelter that protects users from the scorching sun in the heart of the Brazilian hinterland.
