In the picturesque suburbs of Kyiv, a private house has become home to a family of four and their cat. Designed as a family retreat, the project embraces color, texture, and detail to create a layered and expressive living space. The architects and clients spent considerable time searching for the right solution, from building plots to existing houses. The chosen property stood out for its well-planned layout and potential for transformation. This airy artists loft was converted from a rustic, vintage studio into a lavishly furnished gallery inspired residence. Caption Caption Long walls and high ceilings provided the perfect opportunity to showcase the owner’s many original works of art, while also having a sprawling living room, kitchen, and parlor. Centering the open space is a large stone plinth that is both a sculpture in itself as well as the kitchen island. The island, made entirely of stone slabs, has both integrated storage and sink, to be as functional as it is beautiful. Renovation project of a duplex apartment in Verona, near Castelvecchio. The clients, a couple of young lawyers with three children, asked the architects to renovate the apartment with wooden floors and find space for contemporary furnishings and many family objects they had collected. Clients asked us to make a central island unit in their kitchen. Although the space is narrow and long, they wanted this way of cooking. philippe billard We took this constraint of the narrowness and pushed it to its limit. The result is a very long black rectangle of 3.60m long made of granite. There is just enough space on both sides to cook and walk. philippe billard On one hand a wooden storage separates the house’s secondary entrance from the kitchen.
