Ducati Training Center

Ducati Training Center China is a place to learn and grow. Here, the historic Italian motorcycle brand, trains its new employees. The subjects taught are: motorcycle mechanic theory and repair, sales and marketing strategies.   For this 350sqm, the client requested a flexible and open space but with separated areas for each of the subjects. Another request was to have a small office and a big storage for motorcycle parts, sales and marketing material.   The client requests set the principles to design the space. We decided to take advantage of the double height of the existing space and designed a mezzanine in the form of an elevated volume. In this way we created a big storage room and, at the same time, visually divided the... More

PORTS1961 Shanghai: Flagship

A retail experience that embraces the history of The Bund as an important port and art-deco district. CHALLENGEFor this project, we were tasked with designing a flagship retail experience in Shanghai for fashion brand Ports 1961. The design had to embrace the history and character of The Bund, a downtown cultural district known for its art-deco style and—history as one of China’s most important ports—while creating a signature brand system that could be applied in locations around the world. INNOVATIONWe recycled the materials from a recently-demolished historic Chinese house, CNC-milling the wood to create a fluid system reminiscent of a ship’s hull that displays the fashion collection. This reduces the environmen... More

Heritage Range

Bharat Floorings and Tiles (BFT) manufacture hand-crafted cement tiles for 3 specific segments of the market: decorative floors, industrial floors, and exterior floors. However, BFT is best known for creating decorative floors from its portfolio of Heritage™  and designer tiles which adorn many landmark buildings, palaces, hotels, restaurants, boutique stores, education institutions and private residences.   BFT’s Heritage™  tiles are present-day replicas of famous Minton (encaustic) tiles which were brought into India by the British. In 1922, as a part of India’s Swadeshi Movement, BFT designed its own set of tiles and hand-crafted them from cement in a multitude of patterns and colours. Today, floors made from BFT’s Heritage™  tiles offer... More

Terrazzo with coarse chippingsThe coarse-grained marble aggregate is the connecting element between the individual slabs and colours. The Carrara chippings make the floor appear lighter and flatter and at the same time robust and insensitive. Floors are created as in the Bauhaus period and the 1920s. More

Urban Cement

Urban cement flaunts one of our new technologies- ‘exterior texture’- and creates a beautiful greyscale cementitious color with a strong underlying silver pearl, giving it significant tone and depth, especially in direct sunlight. One of the designs we are most excited about in this release, the neutral color is a killer compliment with our Neo Spritz, Tempest Patina and Parisian Rust, as it intensifies the deep hue and great color play of these finishes. Keep in mind, unlike typical cement or fiber cement, this can be curved, perforated (decorative and acoustical), and one of our favorite applications of recent, acoustical baffles.  This is a super matte finish. Eternit training center

So what? A chest. A box. Alas, the building is not quite as straightforward as it may appear at first sight. It is, in fact, highly sophisticated. The façades are all clad with EQUITONE fibre cement panels in shades of white, light grey, mediumgrey and dark grey; but look at the detail: the panels grow increasingly taller towards the top of the building while still retaining their continuous horizontal and vertical joints. Besides, large rectangular fields of several panels project by a few centimeters from the surrounding surfaces. Conversely, colours do not alternate from panel to panel but between whole groups of panels. Furthermore, differently coloured fields are not congruent with those standing proud and the two do, in fact, overlap... More
