GYST

Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue. The whole place is old, yet unused for years. The old stuff was kept as much as possible and it was not easy to deal with it: the marble floor had lots of missing parts, the concrete pillars were full of scrap from tile adhesive. Vladimir Mindru Vladimir Mindru The metal entrance door was a delight when it was brought back to light. The new is young and playful: a colorful artistic mural, pink tones on the central pillars, posters with bittersweet messages. The part we borrowed is the well-known Danish relaxation. We wanted it to be found in the bar’s atmosphere, like the owners transposed it in the served coffee and food. Unpretentious, but bold. The blue is... More

Wine bar TEN10

The prominent position of the bar in Pirgos, Greece, benefits from focused perspective views over the central town square, and its good orientation allows the use of natural light; this context, and the owners’ desire for clear, singular lines in the interior, provided the framework for the design elaboration. Caption The layout places the bar and the cellar in the middle of the composition, creating a memorable identity. The monolithic bar bench, made of natural stone in emerald color, and its framing by the wooden cellar, designed to be organically integrated into the space, is combined with the distinctive metal roof that mirrors natural light, entering the space through clerestory windows during the day. Ducati Training Center

Ducati Training Center China is a place to learn and grow. Here, the historic Italian motorcycle brand, trains its new employees. The subjects taught are: motorcycle mechanic theory and repair, sales and marketing strategies.   For this 350sqm, the client requested a flexible and open space but with separated areas for each of the subjects. Another request was to have a small office and a big storage for motorcycle parts, sales and marketing material.   The client requests set the principles to design the space. We decided to take advantage of the double height of the existing space and designed a mezzanine in the form of an elevated volume. In this way we created a big storage room and, at the same time, visually divided the... More

PORTS1961 Shanghai: Flagship

A retail experience that embraces the history of The Bund as an important port and art-deco district. CHALLENGEFor this project, we were tasked with designing a flagship retail experience in Shanghai for fashion brand Ports 1961. The design had to embrace the history and character of The Bund, a downtown cultural district known for its art-deco style and—history as one of China’s most important ports—while creating a signature brand system that could be applied in locations around the world. INNOVATIONWe recycled the materials from a recently-demolished historic Chinese house, CNC-milling the wood to create a fluid system reminiscent of a ship’s hull that displays the fashion collection. This reduces the environmen... More

Urban Cement

Urban cement flaunts one of our new technologies- ‘exterior texture’- and creates a beautiful greyscale cementitious color with a strong underlying silver pearl, giving it significant tone and depth, especially in direct sunlight. One of the designs we are most excited about in this release, the neutral color is a killer compliment with our Neo Spritz, Tempest Patina and Parisian Rust, as it intensifies the deep hue and great color play of these finishes. Keep in mind, unlike typical cement or fiber cement, this can be curved, perforated (decorative and acoustical), and one of our favorite applications of recent, acoustical baffles.  This is a super matte finish.
