Situated on Rathausplatz in Weil am Rhein, the new extension to the town hall establishes a modern administrative complex that enters into a dialogue with the existing building and the surrounding architecture. A four‑storey volume aligns with the heights of adjacent residential blocks to create a harmonious composition with the original town hall. The two‑storey tower crowning the structure forms a distinct landmark and visual anchor. The new Rishon Lezion Municipality Lobby was designed by Anat Herman Wincygster Architecture and Interior Design Studio. The municipality's location in  in the heart of the city inspired the design concept: a meeting point, a kind of 'urban piazza' that connects the outside and inside, designed in a modern style that gives an inviting feeling to city employees and residents. In 1912 the city builder Anton Möller completed a factory for earthenware and fireclay goods as a branch of the company of brothers Böttcher in Varnsdorf. The building has a progressive reinforced concrete structure, was electrified and connected to a railway siding. In 2007 brewing beer with the logo of Tomcat (Kocour) was started. The subject of the proposal is a conversion of the former ceramics space into a social hall. As the existing city hall building to remain is a historical element, we would like to offer a unique architectural feature by embracing the past and making socially interactive platform through the creation of the pavilion. The conversion and renovation of the former bank in the Vijzelstraat in Amsterdam to house the municipal archives was already a prestigious assignment and expectations were high. That allure is connected both with the genesis and symbolic value of the building and with the new public function which is at odds with the closed typology of a bank building. The new design treats the original design by K.P.C. De Bazel with respect. Firstly, many original qualities of the building, which had been lost in the course of its use, were restored to their former glory.
