MaintorWinX

The WinX Tower will be completed as the final segment of the MainTor ensemble. At a height of 110 meters, the WinX–The Riverside Tower is the highest of those in the MainTor quarter which stands directly on the banks of the Main River and interfaces the river, Old Town Frankfurt and the CBD. The office high-rise stands out from the other MainTor buildings for its materials and style. The 28-story tower is characterized by a reflective metallic skin and an unusual shape, as it rests on an x-shaped footprint. The striking entrance: the seven-story portal building on Neue Mainzer Strasse, which marks the beginning of the WinX Tower, combines classical architecture and sheer dynamism. More

Private Residence in Palos Verdes

Mandy Graham is pleased to announce her recently completed (Jan 2019) personal residence in Palos Verdes, California. The home is a 4bd/4ba, 2,400 sqft 1928 Spanish cottage nestled under a canopy of eucalyptus trees and surrounded by rustic landscape including lavender, olive trees, and agave. Decomposed granite, flagstone pavers, terra-cotta tile roof and smooth stucco exterior suggest a Spanish/Mediterranean esthetic.   This was an extensive renovation down to the original framing. The original layout was honored as to embrace the warmth and charm of an older home. While keeping the existing footprint, two additional bathrooms were created as to maximize space and function. Virtually every element in this home was modified entirely... More

Paseo Aldrey – Cultural & shopping centre

“Paseo Aldrey – Cultural & Shopping Centre” is a major project to transform a former bus station in the city of Mar de Plata (Argentina) into a cultural and leisure centre while also restoring and placing new value on this item of heritage.   Architects’ studio Mariani-Pérez Maraviglia was responsible for the redevelopment of this 42,000m2 area for the city’s inhabitants.   With this project, headed by architect Laura Napp, a whole new facelift was given to the area through the construction of a new linear-looking building that integrates the old bus station’s classical architecture (designed by architect Jules Dormal in around 1910) into its big volumes.   This redeveloped... J. P. Morgan And Company

Many buildings in the Financial District were built in the early part of this century.  They are assertive buildings, strong in form and bold in scale.  Their architects interpreted freely from the language of classical architecture and, with exuberance, employed the full range of compositional elements.   The mid-block site of the fifty-one-story tower extends from Wall Street through to Pine Street.  Across the street is 55 Wall Street, an 1842 landmark, from which development rights had been transferred.   The design of the building involved the challenge of devising a tower that was technologically and functionally contemporary, with state of the art communication systems, energy efficient and prepared for c... Casa Atrio

A heavenly plant-filled atrium brings life, light and connection into the heart of this family home. From the outside, Casa Atrio has the character of an Italianate-style terrace, intertwining decorative classical architecture with a Victorian-era home. Ornate and picturesque, the style is unique to Melbourne when the city was fuelled by the prosperity and optimism of the gold rush late nineteenth-century. But step inside, and the light-filled home has the charm of a classic Parisian apartment with elegant detailing, custom furniture and spaces for family and friends to gather. We were engaged to create a light, spacious and inviting home for a young Melburnian family who enjoy the inner-city lifestyle and have a strong appreciation for hist... Anchored on the bank of the Grand River, the project reignites a landmark — a listed 1885 masonry post office that had fallen into serious disrepair — and adds a 9,000-square-foot transparent pavilion that wraps around the original building and stretches out over the water, revealing the conviviality within to passersby, enticing them in. The multidimensional architecture communicates from all sides, exuding intelligence and practicality as it deftly merges old and new. RDHA achieved sophisticated forms using... More

Clan Hall X - The Pursuit of Truth Under the Tree

Located at the entrance of the entire village, this house is the first building in sight when entering this ancient Huizhou village. This tiny sweet piece of architecture was originally used as a small pharmacy store with an area of only 80㎡. In order to receive growing number of tourists, we renovated her into a reception center for the entire village. The design requirements are simple: in order to coordinate with the overall environment, it’s not allowed to be bigger, taller or abrupt. However, she still needs to bear the iconic role of the entire ancient village at the entrance spot.During the concept phase, we don't want her appearance to be smeared exaggeratedly as a cyber-celebrity, but a local girl who reads poetry. Therefore, the r... More
