In the 1970’s, a new highway was planned to encircle the metro Tucson area along the Pantano Wash. Christ Community Church purchased property along this new route, and had a new campus designed to encircle a tall prayer tower. Like many master plans, things didn’t pan out as planned. The highway was not built, and the prayer tower was never completed. This confidential client decided to develop Refreshed, a coffee bar on the top floor of their mid-rise office building. This whimsical oasis serves hundreds of employees by providing a place for relaxation, socialization, and caffeine. It's not just any ordinary bar; it's a masterpiece of steel and antique brass-plated decorative wire mesh that defines the space with elegance and functionality. It keeps the clean monotone design that has become the signature of all Arabica shops, but it's set apart by its mystical verticality.
