Community Centre for People with Disabilities

The building that was designed by Tel-Aviv based Golany Architects serves people who experience disabilities. Therefore, providing accessibility was essential and indispensable. Accordingly, strict measures were employed, in order to cater for people with special needs, including wheelchair users. Inclusive design approach was implemented, so as to create an environment suiting all. It was important to make sure that the accessibility provision would not result in an unattractive, stigmatizing, remedial environment that announces people's disability, but rather, to create a setting where everyone would feel comfortable and equal. Colors were used to facilitate legibility and orientation. They serve as markers to assist, also those... More

Onde (waves)

The apartment is located in the center of Rome, inside a very rational real estate complex, interesting from an architectural point of view, but incredibly squared and with large orthogonal spaces. The project was born for a young woman, so the main intention was to orientate the study of the interior design to restore a softness, an irrationality of the environments, in line with a female identity, and at the same time in strong contradiction with the external context. The design work focuses on shapes and volumes emphasized with light colors that reflect the nuances of the seascapes. The result is a very welcoming home, with original and sinuous suggestions involving continuous different points of view and overlapping free lines in moveme... More

Dáme jídlo: food as the main feature

The year 2017 was one of change for Dáme jídlo. In autumn, the company, which is part of the global Delivery Hero group, changed its visual identity and offices, and we were called upon to help with the latter. In view of the youthful nature of the company, we designed the interior to be ready for employees who shun a permanent desk and prefer to find a different place to work at every opportunity. The variable workplace trend is one we have also pursued in other companies. In addition to an assigned workspace, each employee can also take advantage of informal meeting points, focus zones, telephone booths and an open space (the so-called work lounge). The employees at Dáme jídlo trust each other, and so can work from anywhere.A place to conc... More

Heart of the Campus, Sheffield Hallam University

ROCKPANEL® façades have formed the stunning canvas for a specially commissioned, three storey carving on the new ‘Heart of the Campus’ building at Sheffield Hallam University. The work evokes the history of cutlery & silverware manufacture in the city via techniques associated with it such as engraving & chasing, suggesting the role of an individual maker and the exotic materials they often worked with such as Brazilian Rosewood & Red Deer antler. The layered images are a recurring theme, appearing in the glazing as well as the façade... More

KVZ587 - Interior

This room needed a new flooring, which could function as a total make-over for the apartment. We wanted to create a creative, stunning experience with the use of simple materials, available at the local DIY-shop. Therefore we chose to give the L-shaped room a laminate floor composed out of three different colours of the same click laminate product. To accentuate the thinness and 'fakeness' of the material (it's supposed to look like wood) besides combining different colours, the laminate was rotated 30 degrees and folded as a sheet of paper onwards the wall. Where the laminate meets the socket-outlet, an even simple as sophisticated solution is introduced by just drilling four holes in the laminate. This small-scale project became re... More
