House P, Erlenbach

The tapered 500 square-metre property is situated on a ridge on the right bank of Lake Zurich. The structure’s dimensions result from the contracting shape of the plot. The detached house comprises two full storeys with an attic and a basement including an underground car park. The projecting and receding levels of the single-shell concrete construction appear deliberately stacked on top of each other and create balconies with different orientations. The window openings are positioned precisely in the individual rooms to ensure views of the lake and into the distance. A staircase core runs through the structure like a backbone and holds the compact interior layout together. The structure’s heaviness offers presence as a res... More

In the upper part, the storage unit Blade has compact proportions and a formal rigor which is interrupted in the lower part by a concrete base, an innovative artist’s choice that gave form and shape to an object worthy of being in a contemporary art gallery. The concrete is molded, entirely by hand, thus giving the legs an amorphous design. The two doors of the storage unit have a different finish thanks to the use of colored resins. Another peculiarity of this furniture is the opening of the doors with an unusual rotation at 270 degrees. This choice allows for two configurations of the cabinet: one closed and one completely visible. The metal handle has rigorous and clean shape. The inner part is illuminated by a LED light that enhan... More

Our cuisine is multi-cultural and we can now enjoy food from all over the world within our own cities. If you want to attract attention, you have to come up with something special. The Ayverdi family from the Schlotterbeck area of Zurich did just that. Together with they came up with plans for a kebab temple for the modern, quality-conscious, urban public. Concrete was the chosen material to embrace that Urban feeling. Dade design was a partner and produced the individually planned concrete design. The eye-catcher is the 18m long concrete counter, which consists of 5 elements. Thanks to sophisticated concrete cosmetics it appears as a seamless whole. Roof extension Maxvorstadt_R11

R11 is a roof extension to a four storey building in the Munich inner city near the central station. The foundations of the existing 1980s building had limited carrying capacity and did not allow for a simple extension of this size. Instead, it was first necessary to demolish the reinforced concrete structure on the fourth floor before extending upwards with a more lightweight construction. The new structure of massive timber, clad in steel encloses two new floors and a mezzanine gallery. In total, three separate living units have been created. The interior space is designed as a flowing sculpture binding all functions together in a series of interlocking interior and exterior spaces. The upper floors are connected by an east-west galle... More
