The recent revival of viticulture in Poland has brought renewed attention to the landscapes and buildings that support it. Set among rows of vines, the vineyard building emerges as a quiet, utilitarian structure shaped by place, material, and the rhythm of wine production. Its architecture is defined by restraint and clarity—a single, coherent volume that draws on the typology of traditional agricultural buildings of the Opole region, while responding to contemporary needs. This private house is designed following an ideal program of values provided by the owners for wich order and rigor are fundamentals. The project sees a renoavtion of an 1980's villa in a green and hilly area. A. ANALYSIS | Typological background   - In the past, the island's economy was largely based on agriculture, which exploited the fertile lands. In the case where the property was not flat, the farmer was building retaining walls with the stones he had taken out of the field, a technique that preserved the precious soil from being washed away and turned the slope into arable terraces ("pezoules" ). Thoughts The historical buildings and walls form a monastery-like structure, a self-contained complex. The spatial qualities and the mystic power of the existing “shells” should be kept and continued when new buildings are added, so the aim of the design is to unobtrusively place volumes and to form a closure of the ensemble towards west while keeping the main orientation towards the central monastery yard. The new building volumes in the west stand in line with the boarding house. The inner courtyard is determined by the listed main building and a new volume, which is placed as stand-alone as the old one.
