What followed tested the project at every turn—planning disputes, a drawn-out VCAT process, the collapse of the original builder, and ultimately a complete rethink of the design. From these challenges emerged a light-filled home that reconsiders the suburban backyard, placing nature, community, and long-term living at the forefront of everyday life.

Building around the feeling of desire, Noumen Studio carefully calibrated every aspect of the space to achieve a dramatic yet seductive environment for guests to leave their troubles behind.

Snohetta + WERK Arkitekter unveil an architectural landmark inspired by boat construction in Denmark
The seaport town Esbjerg on the west coast of Denmark welcomes a new maritime centre designed by Oslo-based Snohetta and Danish firm WERK Arkitekter. The centre was developed as a shared area for watersports clubs and visitors along the port and to give the town a community hub and architectural landmark.
