Pecka Playscape

Pecka Playscape represents a fusion between a playground, a sculpture park and an educational trail, designed on a monumental scale and set in the midst of the enchanting landscape of Krkonoše National Park.Authors‘ reportThe Pecka Playscape is a unique set of play elements and installations on the boundary between sculpture and folly located at 1062 meters above sea level. The main impulse that initiated this project was to motivate both parents and children to enjoy the outdoors. To spend time in a forest while breathing fresh mountain air and to encourage them to be in contact with natural materials such as wood, water and stone. We designed all the playscape elements so that they are in harmony with the original landscape whil... More

Pavilion of Humanity in Brno

Moravské Náměstí is a busy square in the centre of Brno, and a vibrant center of Brno’s social life. As it lies right on the Brno ring road boulevard, inspired by the Ringstraße in Vienna, thousands of people walk and drive through it every day. Few of them, however, realize the historical complexity of the spacious area, which used to be part of the city’s fortification system from 1243, a Nazi center during the war, and memorial sites . Last summer, the square gained another historical chapter when it was temporarily redesigned by the Brno architecture studio CHYBIK + KRISTOF, to hold the needs of the multigenre festival “Meeting Brno.” The festival’s theme was the notion of European unity, as it is currently greatly endang... NoD Café

The café is the core of NoD experimental culture space. Our goal was to refurbish the interior to attract daytime coffee shop visitors. Our proposal is amplifying an early 20th century atmosphere whilst keeping the NoD signature; the pompous central bar under the floating Jiri David’s Golden bones sculpture and the elevated seating area. The original ornate molding is being continued with a new one which we cascade all around the hall. The smoked oak parquet, the white mosaic at the bar, and the traditional coffee shop chairs, accompanied by the brass elements, refers to the era of the foundation of the house.Products:Central bar tiles: Mutina - RombiniWorktop: Technistone – Noble CarraraChairs and stools: Ton – Chair 56, Armchair 24, Stool... NATIONALE-NEDERLANDEN BUILDING

Located along the Vltava River, within walking distance of the National Theater and of other prominent cultural facilities, the site for the Nationale-Nederlanden Building is one of only three in the historic district of central Prague on which new construction is being permitted. The site is located at the corner of two streets, adjacent to an unusually shaped public square. In response to the site, the design employs a twin tower scheme at the corner, creating a smooth transition from street to street, while at the same time creating a strong visual focal point. This massing strategy also establishes a sculptural dialogue appropriate to the context of the immediate urban environment. On the ground level of the building, directly acces... More
