This office building lobby had been recently renovated, but a new owner viewed the lobby as sterile and cold. The design team was given the challenge of energizing the lobby spaces, but in a cost effective way. The existing lobby was well detailed and had quality materials, but potential was discovered in the existing architectural features and color was used to accent them and add energy to the space. Seating areas were designed to give tenants and visitors areas for relaxation or a place for impromptu meetings. The future meets the best of the past.   What do you call a midcentury remodel that transformed a 1954 bungalow into a three-level 5,100-square-foot modern home? Massive panels of glass update a midcentury classic.   When Suzanne French and Rob Meyers decided it was time to remodel their Denver home, they envisioned complementing its midcentury design with modern touches and a minimalist aesthetic. Turns out some neighbors of theirs, Angelo and Nancy Marasco, were architects who specialize in the style. As the first new building on CCD’s campus since its institution in 1967, the Confluence Building capitalized on the opportunity to establish a new identity for the college both externally and internally. The building is located on the Auraria Higher Education Campus, and houses bright classrooms along with its function as a “one stop” student services center.Sitting on the edge of campus, the building is flanked by a major campus thoroughfare to the north and an historic park preserving small houses to the east.
