Serfimex 2.0

The success of Serfimex led us to resume the additional space that was pending in the first phase and present a proposal for the growth of the commercial area. The proposal for Serfimex 2.0 arises based on the parameters defined for the original project, which includes: an operational area, a manager's area, a meeting room and booths for individual work or telephone calls with greater privacy. Jaime Navarro The connection between both spaces occurs in two places. The first is through the management corridor and the second through the dining room, achieving free movement and flow in a very harmonious way. It was also very important to maintain consistency between both spaces, since, although it is a new phase, it is still the same comp... More

Rabbit 13

Daily gestures that take place in the bathroom are translated into a multi-function object in the towel warmer Rabbit collection: from the possibility of easily hanging the bathrobe, to the arrangement of towels on the tubulars, and the diffusion of thermal comfort in the room, the family fulfills numerous services, offering three possible versions, identical in size. What differentiates them are the shapes of the horizontal elements, which can be circular in cross-section, with a diameter of 13 mm or 22 mm, or rectangular, 20x15 mm, grouped in regular rhythms and welded to the vertical stands, that long on top of the radiator naturally create two hooks on which it is possible to attach bathrobes.  More

Serenity

The desert is open space and long views, but also the close-up, detailed perfection of the cactus flower. It is nature’s serene minimalism. This is the setting for our project inside the gated community of The Vintage in Indian Wells, California. William MacCollum This project involved deep creative collaboration with the clients, who partnered with architect Marc Whipple and the W^R team on every aspect of the interior design, and personally curated or co-designed each of the many art pieces throughout the house. With a passion for racing and cars, and also for collecting fine wines, the program was going to include dazzling and innovative displays that would be both highly visible and striking artistic statements. This house... More

Adela Apartments

The project came about with the development of a large residential block close to the Elwood foreshore and Port Philip Bay. The brief simply requested a spacious apartment product that was cutting edge and contemporary, but subtle both inside and out. The concept of a large apartment resulted in six single level dwellings, each with the proportions of a small house. The apartments are low maintenance, functionally adaptable to appeal to a range of potential residents, and highly sustainable. Externally, rather than go for a standard “stacked wedding cake” form, the building was set back significantly from the adjoining properties on the lower levels. This allowed the main volume of the building to have vertical sides and reduce... More

Arch-Texture

It is not a coincidence that the word ‘Arch’ is found in both ‘Arch-itecture’ and ‘Arch-aic’.1 In recent times there has been a resurgence in the use of the ‘Arch’ in architectural forms throughout the world.  Why? Most likely as the result of a generational ebb and flow in our cultural relationship to our collective history; a youthful break with our past replaced with a mature revaluation. Modernism emerged from the conformist historicism of the Victorian era and sought to euthanise that past architectural narrative, and so few arches were visible in its rigid Euclidian geometry.  However, following the excesses of the Second World War a melancholic reappearance of a veiled neocla... Annandale House

The project consists of alterations and additions to an existing inner-city two-storey Victorian terrace house built on an exceptionally long and narrow site (ratio 1:8.5). The client's brief was to design a new fourbedroom residence by refurbishing the original two-storey terrace and demolishing a shamble of fibro and corrugated metal clad lean-tos, and an enormous metal shed which was formerly used as Christmas decorations factory. The site is closely bounded by residential units to the south-west and the Piano Factory warehouse apartment conversion to the north. The west and east offer framed views to established trees and green streetscape respectively.   Taking these issues into consideration, the new additions attach to the rea... More
