501 Durán Aquitectos as Architects

A space where family life and creative expression are harmoniously intertwined, resolving everything necessary for a family to find the ideal environments for professional development and home dynamics. The architectural design allows for the ideal result to be achieved by emphasizing materiality, as well as the relationship between interior and exterior.

The requirements expressed by renowned guitarist Eduardo Díaz, his wife and daughters are translated into the design of this music studio made up of architectural volumes that merge through slender steel elements, stone masses and wooden details. The layout of the garden complements the palette of materials, offering multifaceted scenarios surrounded by natural environments that enrich both family activities and musical creation.

The morphology of the structure is characterized by angles that respond to the search for a specific and vital reverberation to enhance the musician's artistic performance and becomes a distinctive form that unifies the spaces. The relationship with the landscape creates diverse aesthetic environments both indoors and outdoors that serve as inspiring frames for audiovisual productions, where Eduardo shares his talent on social networks, constituting one of the fundamental branches of his profession and becoming visual testimonies of the harmony between form and function, as well as the fusion between family life and art.

The property selected for the project has 507 m2 of surface area and borders the family residence to the north. The proposal consists of designing a music studio and complementary uses, where the most frequented interior social area, made up of the living room, dining room and kitchen, functions as the main connection point with the home and together with the two exterior connections the integration of the spaces with the existing is achieved.

The zoning starts from the main connection point with the home, where the compositional axes of the design are established and the circulations are configured with porticos that function as distributors towards the different spaces, while contributing to thermal insulation.

The room that connects to the residence is conceived as a space dedicated to family life, a central element in the conception of this project. This space offers the possibility of accessing the garden, promoting cognitive stimuli for child development.

The music studio is conceived as a space where the shape encourages the rebound of sounds to meet the acoustic requirements necessary for artistic creations. This environment, intended for the composition of musical pieces, will offer diverse backgrounds, enriched by the transitory qualities of the nature that surrounds it, optimal for the recording of informal videos on a daily basis.

The terrace with slender steel elements and the gabled structure, functions as a living space where the background musical sounds create exceptional environments.

The garden, embracing the different spaces, allows connection with nature. The system of squares, configured with meeting points throughout the entire natural area, which, together with paths surrounded by species, create different environments during circulation.
