With a composition that alludes to mass and weight, Apollo is a lamp made from a solid piece of machine-turned brass or aluminum. Its conical shapes balance end-on-end like spinning gyros, emphasising a dynamic, downward, thrusting force. A lamp with a real heightened material presence, with its surfaces left deliberately raw. The Apollo family comes in a range of colours that can be used singularly or hanging in various heights as a group constellation. A new addition to the family is the distinctive Apollo 180 floor lamp, in lacquered anodised aluminum. The upward turning conical shapes give an indirect light. More

Born in 1965 in Havana (Cuba), René Barba studied art in Florida from 1986 to 1989. In 1994, he obtained a diploma in industrial design from the National School of Decorative Arts in Paris. Since then he has been both a freelance designer and a teacher at various art and fashion schools. By experimenting with a wide choice of materials, he above all creates clean shapes combining minimalism and comfort. Clearly inspired by modern lighting of the 70s, we wanted to make a new version of a chandelier but implementing LED lighting, creating a luminaire with vintage reminiscences but providing a very modern look. A spectacular luminaire yet serene, classic and contemporary.
