The VARA intelligent lighting system works with a new (patent-filed) interaction technology that means you can control every single LED via your smartphone. Users can create myriad different light situations with just a touch or a swipe on our bespoke app. The smartphone app (iOS or Android) can create unique lighting effects, leave notifications, save and play preloaded lighting scenarios and monitor your energy consumption, using either Bluetooth or Wifi connections. VARA is designed to be modular and has a range of optional components – the slim LED strip and basis module can be augmented to become a table lamp, floor lamp, pendant light, shelf light, integrated light etc. The VARA unit will go on sale from a starting Earlybird price of €99 for the base unit, with various modular options for users to build up as they want. “It was really important for us to bring our design ethos to a friendly price point,” said founder Matthias Pinkert. “We wanted to launch on Kickstarter to give everyone a chance to have a system that suits their style and their budget.”
