Celebrating the outstanding achievements and legacy of NBA and the game of Basketball around the world, CambridgeSeven served as the Master Planner, Architect and Exhibit Designer for the exciting renovation and re-imagining of the iconic Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, MA. The project unfolded over three phases culminating in a grand re-opening in May of 2021.The team was inspired by the dramatic architecture featuring the central domed space, the circular floor plan as well as the game itself. SKOLNICK was responsible for the conceptual planning, site selection, and complete architectural and exhibition design for the development of the Creative Discovery Museum, the second cultural destination to be part of a major urban renewal project for the downtown Chattanooga riverfront. Development of the major family-oriented museum focused on themes in the Arts and Sciences. Exhibition areas include: Music Studio, Artists’ Studio, Paleontology area including a dig site, and an Inventor’s Studio.  Inside, the exhibits use both high and low-tech interactives to trigger the imagination and curiosity of children 0-12 years old in the exploration of their creativity. The Trapps Gateway Center, on the Mohonk Preserve, is an Orientation and Administration Center for New York State’s largest member-supported nature preserve. In 1998, the Visitor Center and its exhibits were designed by SKOLNICK. The building design has won wide recognition for its sustainable design. To celebrate its 50th Anniversary in 2013, the Preserve launched several initiatives to enhance the way it engages the public with nature. For the Serpentine Pavilion 2016, we have attempted to design a structure that embodies multiple aspects that are often perceived as opposites: a structure that is free-form yet rigorous, modular yet sculptural, both transparent and opaque, both box and blob. We decided to work with one of the most basic elements of architecture: the brick wall. Rather than clay bricks or stone blocks – the wall is erected from extruded fiberglass frames stacked on top of each other. Culminating a six-month design competition, Syracuse University today announced SHoP Architects, a world-renowned architect firm headquartered in New York City, has been selected to conceptualize and design the new National Veterans Resource Complex (NVRC). On the occasion of the preview of an extract from the documentary Scatter my ashes at Bergdorf’s for the 111 years celebration of the luxury department stores Bergdorf Goodman in New York, Migliore+Servetto Architects has designed a very light set up at the 38° and 39° floors of the scenographic viewpoint of Lombardia skyscraper. At the 39° floor: a small “movie theater” shows a preview of an extract from the documentary Scatter my ashes at Bergdorf’s, while in the hall with a 270° view over Milan, as the prow of a boat, 18 bookrests activate a narration through images about New York Times, T Magazine and Bergdorf Goodman.
