CONCEPTUAL PREMISE – “THE AXIS OF LEGACY”A longitudinal axis of water–reflection is proposed, which organizes the access, generates a ceremonial sequence between the city and the museum, and symbolizes the formative flow of the Academy (from the past to the present and to the future). For decades, the MASP teams—particularly the museology department—have been developing a proprietary system for mounting and handling artworks from a collection that extends far beyond the museum walls and circulates globally. This work has resulted in a unique fixation system, visible in the permanent exhibition Acervo em movimento, where artworks are displayed on the iconic cristal easels conceived by Lina Bo Bardi in 1968. The guiding theme of the 2025 edition,“Beyond Time”, has been interpreted in terms of design as an invitation to go beyondthe chronological dimension to enter a narrative, aesthetic and emotional time. Dreaming up a film. Setting out the fragments of an upcoming, imaginary film in space. But, how to spread out the linearity of the film in the three dimensions of space? How to create, from the drift, the experience of a narration? Unfinished? Infinite? Alive?
