FRPO designs green thermal power plant as architectural icon

Madrid-based architectural studio FRPO Rodríguez & Oriol has completed a green thermal power plant for the Spanish District Heating company DH Ecoenergías. Glued laminated timber — also known as glulam and GLT — is, as the name suggests, a form of timber made by gluing together layers of wood to create beams and columns in a range of sizes. Glulam is often used in long-span designs — its strength-to-weight ratio is superior to both concrete and steel. BIG unveils a playful, wooden, colourful factory for Vestre in the middle of the Norwegian woods

In Manor, Norway, The Plus is a new furniture factory by BIG for furniture manufacturer Vestre.
