Dosan Precision: A Dining Bar with Industrial Creativity

Indiesalon as Architects

Dosan Precision explores the subtle connection between a precision factory and a dining bar, drawing inspiration from this combination to create a unique space. This connection can be found in the way small components complete the motion of a machine and how small ingredients complete a dish, emphasizing the shared values of engineers and chefs.

As a dining bar, Dosan Precision offers high-quality cuisine using carefully selected ingredients. Chefs treat even small ingredients with great care and attention, similar to how small components are meticulously crafted in a precision factory.

To reflect the industrial elements, Dosan Precision's interior incorporates features typically found in factories. Metal structures, steel oxygen, and elaborate pipe designs evoke a factory ambience, but transform it into a modern and sophisticated dining experience.

Structure and Details of Dosan Precision

The detailed elements of Dosan Precision emphasize both an industrial feel and functionality, making the space unique and innovative. To enhance the factory-like texture, wall surfaces were naturally ground, directing the gaze towards a factory atmosphere. Additionally, the existing tiles on the floor, revealed after removing the old flooring, were preserved by delicately applying transparent epoxy, retaining the floor's texture.

Externally, shutters symbolising the opening and closing of a factory are installed to accentuate the industrial atmosphere. Internally, overlapping small components of lightweight wall structures form both walls and the bar. A large table in the centre is constructed with thick metal plates and H-beams, providing a sturdy focal point in the space.

Furthermore, a grid-shaped raceway suspended from the ceiling enhances the symbolic feel of the space. Mobile storage cabinets created using shelves and polyurethane wheels maximise utility while perfectly combining design and functionality. The handle, shaped like a weighing scale for precision measurement, harmoniously expresses function and aesthetics.

The floor signal lines from the factory highlight the industrial ambience and guide the flow within the space. Finally, toggle switches and buttons used in the factory's control boxes complete the project by encapsulating lighting control and visual representation.
