Functional design

The focal point of this apartment is the open-plan kitchen, dining and living area. We designed a compact island, a spacious dining table for 6-8 people and a cozy seating area for friendly gatherings. To maintain a sense of openness, cabinets with transparent fronts and dark back panels were chosen, and most of the furniture was raised off the floor with brackets or elegant legs. The wall colors in these rooms are intentionally darker than in the main space - dark surfaces appear further away than light ones. Our team’s main goal in developing the «Poli House» architectural project was to harmoniously blend the house's architecture with the surrounding environment. Seeing and being seen In the heart of this vocational college, students from all kinds of departments bump into one another. Like a five-way junction, from which balustrades lead to the surrounding classrooms. Our woven metals ensure an unimpeded view in all directions. The existence of the Qasr-dasht segregated gardens and Chamran gardens on both sides of the project site, led the idea of binding two adjacent areas together.  This project creates a continuous green network and make the bridge more integrated to the context. Shiraz City has a unique historical characteristic. Dena villa project, actually built 20 years ago. It had a complicated and closed plan, the owner of which wanted to make fundamental changes and general reconstruction, due to the age of himself and his wife. We have followed two main goals for the improvement and reconstruction of this villa: 1-     Using the maximum natural light For using the maximum light, in order to create visual transparency and connecting the interior spaces to the yard, we increased the number and area of the windows. OCAD U CO, or “CO” for short, is an executive training studio where companies take advantage of OCAD University’s focus on design thinking and creative problem-solving to drive change in their organizations. Occupying half of a floorplate in a new commercial condominium building on Toronto’s waterfront, the 14,000 SF interior was long and narrow with 16ʹ high ceilings and it lacked internal character other than its soaring views of the waterfront and the city.
