ELEPHANT & CASTLE

Elephant & Castle is a two-level hair salon in the center of Athens, conceived as an urban interior landscape with references to the materiality of a public space in the city. Housed within a typical Athenian shell, the interior is transformed into an environment of care and formal repetition. Margarita Yoko NIkitaki Margarita Yoko NIkitaki Margarita Yoko NIkitaki Trail Practice’s aim was to integrate the space into its existing context, not through mimicry but by setting the new in dialogue with the old. Spatially, this translated into the creation of a dual system: a full-length mirror acting as a diffusion mechanism, and a shelving wall composed of Dionysos marble shelves and white metallic storage units. Stone villa, Paxoi

Ionian Hideaway: A home between the forest and the seaSet quietly into the forested hillsides of the Paxoi island, this villa embodies an architectural philosophy rooted in contextual intelligence and poetic restraint. More than a summer retreat, it is a year-round sanctuary that balances elemental simplicity with refined spatial complexity, integrating seamlessly into the rhythms of both landscape and lifestyle. This project, of the summer house in the Ionian Sea, reinterprets the archetypal Mediterranean dwelling through the lens of contemporary design thinking. Here, architectural expression is neither nostalgic nor aggressively modern. On the contrary, it is site-specific and timeless. Every decision, from material palette to spatial c... More

Emerging Landscape. Villa in Tinos

Architecture embedded in the landscape of TinosOn a sloping hillside of Tinos, where the Cycladic landscape is shaped by dry stone walls, stone-built “cells,” and old footpaths, a discreet vacation house in Tinos emerges. Alongside it, an independent guest suite, built into the land, completes the project. Named Emerging Landscape, the house follows the natural topography, the material character of the island, and existing landscape elements – both natural and man -made. Caption This is a clear example of sustainable architecture in Tinos. It respects the land and aims to blend into it rather than dominate it. Every decision reflects a conscious effort to build with the landscape — not just on it. Architecture... More

Residential building in Gerakas

The residential building is situated in Gerakas, a newly built area with suburban character. The architectural design suggests a contemporary building with a strong concept that runs throughout the whole structure, introducing an interesting architectural language. The first impression of the residential building is that of a monolithic volume. Nevertheless, design-led decisions, such as the curved forms along the balconies of the apartments, break down this sense of massiveness creating a more playful and attractive aspect. Sotiris Kotsanis Architectural designThe apartment building develops in three floors plus the attic floor, featuring two- and three-bedroom apartments. The ground floor includes two maisonettes that have direct ac... More

Loft in Glyfada

The project focuses on the complete transformation of an existing penthouse apartment, located on the top floor of a building from the 1980s. The renovation design of the loft in Glyfada maximizes the sea views and creates functional living spaces. The architectural approach focuses on enhancing both functionality and aesthetics. The goal was clear: to optimize the panoramic sea view and modernize the living experience. Caption The main goal of the renovation design was to highlight and enhance the breathtaking view of the sea. The original layout of the apartment did not take full advantage of its location. By increasing the size of the existing window openings, to more expansive views, natural light floods the interior. Moreover thi... More

Residence in Penteli

The interiors of the house in Penteli were designed with the aim of creating an atmosphere of balance and austerity. The purity of the forms and the materials are the main tools in achieving the objectives of the study. In addition, a central element in the design of the house is the centrally placed single staircase. The composition of indoor plantings form the “soft core” of the house. In the whole design, the constructions defining the space are integrated in the design and materiality in the white perimeter shell or emerge as autonomous protagonists with distinct morphology and materiality. Villa in Karditsa, Greece

The modern villa is located on the outskirts of the city of Karditsa, in Thessaly. The characteristics of the place were a great inspiration. In general, the design of the building refers to two axes. The semi-urban environment of the city and the natural landscape with the rich mountainous terrain. The prismatic design of the volumes, are a strong architectural reference to the mountainous landscape of the region. An attempt to integrate an urban villa to its natural surroundings. Caption Architectural designThe house consists of a pair of volumes with characteristic prismatic design and pointed roofs. Furthermore, the main entrance design ensures privacy for the villa. Cave House

The project concerns the creation of a new residence on an existing plot in a small settlement, just outside the city of Heraklion. ALYKO BOUTIQUE HOTEL

On a beachfront location, the hotel offers full views of the pristine beach of Alyko on the island of Naxos. The main building borrows its form from the local heritage building "pyrgos" meaning "tower". MASTROMINAS Architecture Built from the 13th to 19th century, the austere constructions with small openings were protecting the landlords from pirate invasions. The rooms are developed in cubic forms which are randomly arranged as a village. The lower part of the complex has a  continuous front of suites that embraces the composition following the uneven lines of the plot's border, like the Naxos city castle.  The private pools of the suites smoothly dissolve into the natural landscape of the sand dunes, whereas their r...
