This project is part of the redevelopment of Benjamin Franklin Village in the northeast of Mannheim, a former residential area of the US Armed Forces stationed in Europe, built in the 1950s. Surrounded by an extensive park, a district for around 10,000 people is being developed through conversion and densification, accommodating a variety of uses ranging from work, care and training to cultural, leisure and local recreational facilities. The geometric shape of the circle has a long tradition in architecture. It appears in details of individual building components as well as in large-scale gestures. In the new global headquarters of the biotechnology company SAN, this elemental form is the conceptual starting point and runs consistently throughout the office and laboratory building. The design emphasizes minimalist elegance and clear, refined lines while maintaining a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Built entirely in timber construction to PlusEnergy standards, the home meets the highest ecological and craftsmanship requirements. Together with the clients, a clearly structured floor plan concept was developed for the detached house, which creates plenty of space for generous living areas and establishes a harmonious connection between the interior and exterior spaces. tschinkersten tschinkersten The building site is a quiet plot of land between old farmsteads on the outskirts of Holzkirchen in Upper Bavaria. The residential building is an elongated structure that stretches along the edge of the plot and opens up to the outside through a covered open space to the south.
