RESIDENCE 87

This apartment is our story to create a luxurious yet comfortable home for our client’s in-laws. This 2100 sqft home is personalized with bespoke’ elements of design, distinguishing its classiness and style. The interior design is crafted with a contemporary scheme, with Indian roots in mind. There is a play of textures, motifs, lattice designs and well-lit spaces. A geometric floral motif is used in variable repetition all over the house to create harmony. This brings out warmth and feeling of ethnicity. We applied it geometrically on multiple scales with multiple materials tying various spaces and corners together. A vibrant red Travertine stone backdrop creates drama in the Living space. A pale comfortable custom-made sofa... More

Safari Residential Apartment

Text description provided by the architects. The Safari Residential Project is located at the southeast of Shiraz, one of the oldest part of the city. Today, the attention of the architects in the city is more focused on the wealthy areas and there is a lack of innovative projects in such poor areas. The site context’s situation is in decline, and architecture is being oblivious, which has affected the city fabric structure and visual aspect of the region. To this end, the initial perspective on the creation of this project is a slight attempt to revive the recession situation of the design site. The idea of the design was based on creating a connecting and reliant element on all floors. This central element, which is in the inner shell of t... More

Casa M

Located along the East Coast Road by the sea side, the beach house functions as a haven from the bustle of city life. The building explores the notion of objects in a landscape. A strong sense of landscape prevails both within and outside the house. “To bring out and make apparent the invisible logic of nature, one must oppose it with the logic of architecture”. A conscious decision was made to build on just 1/3rd of the site area, the remaining was used to blur the line between built and un-built, carving out spaces for recreation and leisure in the outdoors. The building responds sensitively to local climate by harnessing the prevalent North East sea breeze through careful planning. The house is a composition of 3 juxtaposed objects: Th... Casa SI

The main focus of this project was to renovate the apartment but without losing its original character from when it was inhabited by the grandmother. The dining room has been kept in the brightest area of the apartment. We decided to preserve the original tiles, repositioning them as patchwork for the entire flooring. The colored cemented tiles are therefor distinctive and predominant signs of the clean context, painted with white walls and filled with custom made dark pine furniture. The dining table is made of natural oak which is also published and designed by Manuarino Architecture studio. A very extravagant decision is to put the living and kitchen area together separating the area with a double-sided sofa. Meanwhile the dark pine kitc... More

Caroline

In a quaint streetscape in South Yarra alongside its terrace house neighbours, Caroline's contemporary silhouette remains sympathetic and respectful. Foremost, its eloquent brickwork façade and dark folded cladding provide a contrasting backdrop for the sculptural street trees. It’s entry through a concealed gate leads up stone steps to the grand entry, where a double height void and spiral staircase draw the eye upwards to the tall window capturing the changing sky scape to the south. With a focus on space, natural light and fluidity, Caroline has a sculptural quality which radiates from the central spiral staircase throughout the 3 bedroom home. York Street House

Sited on a small inner city block, York St House reflects a type of urban architecture that is born from contextual constraints and is not only an impressive piece of small architecture that is light filled and spacious, but exemplifies contemporary Australian ideas about inner city living. For any small project and in particular dwellings; the sense of light and the quality of space is integral to the success of the project. Our design response is driven largely by context and we believe that space around the building as well as the views inside and out are amplified in small projects. So, in response to the site there were a number of ideas we prioritised. Firstly; retaining the neighbours lush Jacaranda tree which sweeps over... More
