Hôtel Zenit convento San Martín

The New Hotel Zenit Convento de San Martin is located in the heart of San Sebastián, less than 100 metres from the Paseo Marítimo and the La Concha beach. It stands behind the façade of an ancient convent built in 1887 with stone from the Igueldo Mountain quarry for the congregation of the Servants of Mary. The hotel offers various kinds of room.   A series of lightings that combines technology with tradition. Knitting wool threads in fixed patterns creates a three-dimensional sheet of fabric which serves as a lighting fixture. The project was born from a collaboration between the designers Ariel Zuckerman and  Oded Sapir . The process of developing the fabric, with the aid of textile designer Adva Bruner, led to the combination of an industrial knitted fabric with a handmade crochet detail. Fitting the fabric onto a rigid skeletal structure creates a light fixture with an organic feel and a rich colourfulness.   More
