In the unused cafeteria of the Paderborn Fraunhofer Institute, a modern coworking space called "Idea Engine" has been created. Here workshops are held that bring together science and industry for futurology and product innovation. The image of the Future Workshop also serves as a design principle: an unpolished workshop character is intended to create a creative atmosphere.The four areas of the 220m² large area divide the space thanks to an industrial-style glass partition wall: in the "Ideation Space" there is plenty of room for brainstorming. Zukunftsmeile 1

With the Zukunftsmeile ("future mile"), a research and development cluster for product and production innovations was created in Ostwestfalen-Lippe. The economy provides the questions, the universities place their interdisciplinary knowledge at the service of project implementation.The first building block of this initiative has been realised with the research building for 'Intelligent Technical Systems' in 2011. Jagiellonian University Life Science Centre

The project to establish a highly specialized Jagiellonian Life Science and Technology Park was launched by the Jagiellonian University in 2003. It was first developed by the Centre for Innovations, Technology Transfer and University Development (CITTRU), a JU unit responsible for supporting and developing entrepreneurship at the university. As the strategy adopted by the CITTRU was highly successful, in 2004 the project was taken to a new level by the establishment of a university limited liability company called the Jagiellonian Centre of Innovation which was to continue and expand the project.
