Oh my Crunch!

When gourmet sandwiches demand architectural expressionSome concepts arrive fully formed. Others reveal themselves through design.OH MY CRUNCH began with a simple premise: create the world’s best sandwich. But great food demands great context. Consequently, when the opportunity came to design their first flagship location in Forte dei Marmi, we knew this wasn’t just restaurant design. Rather, it was creating physical expression of what makes a sandwich unforgettable—texture, surprise, bold flavor. The result? A bar restaurant design that translates culinary crunch into spatial experience across three locations: the flagship in Forte dei Marmi’s prestigious coastal setting, Milan’s urban energy, and Saint Tropez&... Villa Midori

Walk into almost any modern luxury villa in Dubai and you hit the same architectural problem. Vast, open-plan floor plates framed by massive glass walls look stunning in promotional photos and feel cold, noisy, and disjointed in daily life. When cooking, dining, and lounging zones merge without clear spatial definition, homes lose their intimacy. Add the glare of Middle Eastern sunlight bouncing off all that glass, and high-end living spaces frequently turn into echo chambers instead of restful retreats. When tasked with designing Villa Midori, a 3,000-square-foot residence in Al Barari, Dubai, principal interior designer Amanda D'Souza and her team at Euphoria Interiors set out to solve exactly this. The brief called for a full transforma... More

ADEN London

We are lucky to have had many clients that give us free rein to do something different on the typical London townhouse canvas. The most considered move here is also the most striking.  The existing rear extension, typical for a mid terraced townhouse in fashionable Stoke Newington is barely a decade old was retained rather than demolished only to be rebuilt. Working with what was within the existing walls allow for some creative remodelling to the new rear lounge.  The first floor to the rear outrigger was removed entirely-the loss of an office and bathroom. In its place, a new timber mezzanine now spans the rear of the building as a dynamic diagonal. Expressed as an exposed timber structure it provides new focal point with a ne... More

Reforma de Vivienda en un Huerto de Palmeras

The project began with a commission to carry out a small renovation of an existing house, located in a very special setting, nestled within an urban palm grove. However, it was this very element that transformed the project into a complete renovation, aiming to create spaces that open up to the surrounding landscape and maximize the potential of the existing volume. David Frutos Externally, the house's volumetric configuration, defined by its strong transverse walls, is maintained and even reinforced through the use of gray travertine cladding with vertical panels, designed for seamless integration with the existing vegetation. The intermediate volumes are simplified, and the facade openings are enlarged, becoming glazed facade planes... More

Casa Wabi Sabi

A 1960s apartment in the heart of Reggio Emilia completely abandons its old spatial organization, transforming into a spacious open plan that makes room for light and airiness. Wiener Rathauskeller

BWM revitalised the Rathauskeller in Vienna’s historic City Hall, including its largely heritage-protected event spaces and the 110m-long corridor, restoring and emphasising the building’s original fabric. The Vienna City Hall is one of the most impressive buildings on Vienna’s renowned Ringstrasse. With its Neo-Gothic design, which was bold and original for its time, and its imposing tower, it rivalled the city’s major church buildings and became a symbol of the growing metropolis and the rising bourgeoisie – a kind of secular cathedral of the people. When it was built between 1872 and 1883, the ideologically conceived plans did not include a Ratskeller (cellar tavern). Historically, large city halls and mano... More

Casa Borgo dei Leoni

The renovation project was conceived with the aim of restoring residential quality and architectural coherence to a dwelling unit located in a context of high historical value in the centre of Ferrara, just a few steps from the Castello Estense. The intervention was developed through a dual approach: on the one hand, enhancing the original elements of the building; on the other, introducing design solutions capable of improving functionality, natural light and the overall use of the spaces. Simone Bossi The property is part of the architectural complex known as Palazzo Balbo. The building was originally constructed in 1493 as part of the Addizione Erculea urban expansion. During the 19th century it underwent significant alterations, r... More

Rhythmic Restoration

This project is a restoration and interior renovation of a 2,600 sq ft residence completed in 2024. The intervention focused on retaining the spatial qualities of the original house while adapting it to contemporary living requirements.  JW+DW JW+DW Key architectural elements including deep window openings, patterned metal grills, terrazzo flooring, and a generous living–dining volume were preserved and restored. Rather than replacing these features, the design approach emphasized repair, refinement, and continuity. Original details were conserved and integrated into the updated spatial layout. Repetition and proportion guide the design strategy. The rhythm of the window grills establishes a consistent geometric langua... More
