DCB Montana

The DCB Montana office building marks the first significant step in transforming the Moste industrial zone into a dynamic business district in Ljubljana, the Slovenian capital. DCB Montana is a key element in converting this area into a business park. The architects at BAX, the creators of this project, are fully aware of this premise and have emphasized raising local standards in urban, architectural, and sustainability criteria. This approach aligns with the flexibility required by new ways of working and, as an intrinsic part of the architectural impact, seeks to enrich the surrounding environment by enhancing its connection to public space. New School of architecture in Aarhus

International competition purchased As part of the proposal it is decided the location of the building as well as the demolition or not of the existing buildings. It is now an area that is occupied by some railway facilities in disuse, not far away from the center of the city, and the well known Jacobsen Town Hall. To finish the baseline data there are set some urban requirements that we must fulfill, as well as solving the location of some social dwelling, one parking tower and the Jultand Museum, being Aarhus the largest city of that region. Caption   We proposed to place the new school in the southern plot, keeping that way two out of three existing buildings. The one on the south (surrounded by the proposal), will be the ad... More

Rejuvenate - urban insert

The city of Vilnius simultaneously speaks of evidence of the past, life of the present and aspirations of the future through its built fabric and culture. The design proposal perceives Vilnius as the potential beating heart of the city. It realises the opportunity that a transport hub located in an area steeped in history presents. It is an inspired attempt that draws value from the macro and micro site-scape at every turn to shine a light on the potential of the railway precinct to pioneer urban solutions, celebrate the numerous forms of heritage, build context responsive and heritage sensitive structures, utilise landscape as an element of reactive urbanism, and bring the community together at different points and different formats.... Barilla Competition

The Barilla Pavilion is conceived as a multi-level stage where agriculture and visitors interact in a dynamic exchange. Inspired by both nature and industrial production, the design elevates fields into stacked planes, creating a vertical journey through open-air crops, greenhouses, and exhibition spaces. By revealing the hidden processes of food production, the pavilion breaks away from traditional industrial architecture, exposing the relationship between people, machines, and raw materials. Visitors experience crops and cultivation at multiple levels, navigating through vertically stacked thin slabs designed to accommodate various soil depths. This light, open structure fosters a three-dimensional exploration, seamlessly connecting each... More

Lanzarote Music Factory

Varna Public Library Competition

The new public library in Varna is a permeable cultural container, an incubator for social interaction. As a vertical urban plaza, it gathers visitors of all ages in an open and inviting environment. Through a seamless blend of interior and exterior, visitors are able to move deep into the building without loosing connection with the surrounding city. Staggered volumes containing traditional library programs, such as areas for individual concentration and areas for socialization, float within a permeable envelope to create open spaces, both indoor and outdoor, for social interaction. House of Arts and Culture

The House of Arts and Culture appears at exactly the right moment to boost the already sizzling creativity of Beirut ever since the end of the period of violence in Lebanon between 1975 and 1990. Beirut never ceased to be a place of freedom of thought. Beirut was home to the first universities of the Middle East and was the birthplace of modern Arabic literature. The sultanate of Oman granted USD 20 million to help funding the House of Arts and Culture. Caption After studying the brief of the competition, it was a surprise not to encounter the word Icon once. The brief talks about a strong presence, a recognisable character, an exceptional architecture …but also about banning words such as: rigidity, routine, or static. The cur... More
