C110 | LUZ, NATURALEZA Y QUIETUD

Light, nature and calm. The house possesses the most difficult qualities to achieve in a renovation project. It is a good starting point for our work: we only have to enhance them, make them the absolute protagonists of our intervention. Fran Álvarez To do this, we tidy up the space, eliminate visual noise, replace strident elements with others that are more sober, enhance the connection with the garden. We worked with a reduced palette of warm and muted colours, with natural materials, with dim lighting. We design hand by hand with the client, with their ideas, through constant dialogue, in conversations in our office, in visits to their home. We involve them in the process, thus guaranteeing their emotional connection. Fr... More

Mediterranean backyard

The purpose of the intervention was to take the opportunity of a backyard completely enclosed and without any "soul". That gave us the opportunity to start with a white canvas and create a cosy landscape with the remembrance of the Mediterranean yards. Marta Malheiro Carefully choosing the vegetation, it's possible to achieve the desired goals for this intervention. The Olive tree plays a main role in the development of the yard. The vegetation is suited to develop around the walls creating a sense of softness in contrast with the hardscape of the background. Marta Malheiro The choice of the materials like wood (furniture and deck) and stone paving was set to bring an organic feeling, as it makes part of the idea of a homogene... More

Aroeira Garden

Every project comes with its own challenges, and this one was no exception. The previous location had a neglected garden, with many years of very poor maintenance, leading to a garden that was not with any structure, meaning, or feeling. Inês Jardim The first step for the concept design was to understand the opportunities given by the location in agreement with the house's architectural style. Based on that, we've developed a design inspired in the Mediterranean gardens of the south of Italy, Spain, and some locations of Portugal. Once the concept achieved, was mandatory to structure the design in order to turn the garden into "one piece", meaning that all the spaces should be connected and present the same "language". The c... More

Balançoire ESPELETTE - Marine Peyre

The playful, light and ergonomic object is inspired by the aesthetics of surfboards while transposing it to that of interior design and invites new forms of conviviality.ESPELETTE, whose name is a nod to the picturesque village and the famous pepper of the Basque Country, draws its strength from its materiality thanks to manual shaping work and the application of singular materials such as flax fiber , the indigo-colored plant pigment and bio-sourced resins. The kevlar strings underline its aesthetics and affirm its technicality. Inspired, energetic and free ... ESPELETTE is designed with techniques identical to those of surfboards. Carved by hand, the shape of the foam bread offers endless possibilities. The shape of the seat is given by... More

Casa Green Heart

The design concept of this room house is to create habitability from a central garden that allows general lighting and ventilation of all common and private areas, as a reinterpretation of what were the courtyards in the haciendas. In this project a space was created inside / outside that would give us the feeling of spaciousness becoming a protagonist from the projection of lights and shadows of the pergolate towards the different continuous spaces, seeking to be an extension of them, giving rhythm to this green heart, being equally part of the interior facade of the house. Emotions generated through light, color and Volhumen. More
