The customers had always known they would like to open a catering establishment of industrial interior design. Together with clients, the name of the place was chosen, which gave various possibilities to reflect it in the interior. The standard and already cliche attributes of the maritime theme were immediately abandoned. Instead, attributes of a ship repair yard (a dock) and a modern port were used. The building is of a cultural value; therefore, the attempt was made to reflect it indirectly, but in a modern way, by using the latest interior fashion tendencies for that purpose. The entrance doors, the pattern of floor tiles which is partially used on the walls as well as the white decoration plates of the counter facade, give the interior its historicism. The second floor holds parents’ and children’s bedrooms, bathroom and a closet. The interior is bright with a pinch of minimalist style. The colour of natural oak floors, staircase and furniture together with the whitish walls and white doors create an impression of spaciousness. During the day time there is a restaurant open in the building’s area, and in the evening different events and concerts take place here. Certain special conditions are necessary for this kind of work, that is why a ceiling of acoustical panels was installed in the premises. There is the store in one part, and office, kitchen, warehouse and toilet in the other. The areas are divided by sliding glass partition. The store’s emphasis is glued timber strips ceiling installed sideward to the walls. Laminate flooring is installed the same way sideward. The building is well-preserved, so it was decided not to disguise time proved architecture elements while fitting out the interior. Red brick walls are left and polished additionally; old roof carcass elements are renewed. While creating new elements, those were coordinated with the old ones. The building is old and this reflects on the interior of the restobar. Removing the plaster of the walls revealed awkwardly bricked old red bricks, which as if determined the further choice and arrangements of the elements for the interior. The space of the venue is developed in the rough loft style, which combines natural and artificially aged brick, metal and wood surfaces. The premises are decorated with painted wooden panel walls, framed inserts and partially tiled wall areas. The customers can sit on Chester – style furniture, upholstered with artificial leather.
