The restobar “Tabu” is established in the building of the Concert Hall of Klaipėda, located in the centre of the city. The building is old and this reflects on the interior of the restobar. Removing the plaster of the walls revealed awkwardly bricked old red bricks, which as if determined the further choice and arrangements of the elements for the interior. The space of the venue is developed in the rough loft style, which combines natural and artificially aged brick, metal and wood surfaces. The high arched windows of the premises were a perfect fit for the new style. Most of the elements of the interior, except for chairs and lamps were produced individually. The metal pipe construction mounted on the wall conceals electric wiring and holds the black industrial wall lamps, adapted for the restobar. The rest of the industrial pendant lamps are attached to the ceiling using chains. Electricity is supplied to them by loosely – hanging wires, coming from another metal pipe construction. Wires with bulb sockets and naked lamp bulbs hang above the bar too. The same type of metal pipes was used for making table and barstool legs. The floor, tables and facade of the bar are decorated with toned oak parquet, laid in chevron pattern. The bar top and the boxes for bottles of drinks were made of glued and textured oak planks. The bright neon signs and black buckets with artificial plants hanging from the ceiling make the highlights of the space. Other noticeable elements include long, Chester – style furniture, upholstered with artificial leather, as well as individually – designed lamps, standing on the windowsills. Interior signage was designed for the object, too.
