Parkstadroute Limburg
The LOLA Landscape Architects designed Parkstadroute is a recreational route (for cycling and hiking) of 35 kilometres, through IBA Parkstad, a region in the Netherlands that used to be known for its coal mining. The route is designed as a recreational route, revealing all the highlights and special landscapes of Parkstad, amongst which are quarts sand quarries, purple coloured heather landscapes, old relicts of mines and castles and man-made terral hills. Marked by a distinctive white dotted line, the Parkstadroute weaves through and connects the villages and cities of Simpelveld, Kerkrade, Heerlen, Landgraaf, Brunssum, Hoensbroek, Nuth, Beekdaelen, and Schinnen. Super Blossom
Flowering plants are followed by perennials – forgotten location in Arnhem has gradually developed into an exuberant urban garden.Arnhem city council presented an ambitious vision for a radical greening of the city. Commissioned by the municipality, LOLA Landscape Architects studied the area of the South-East Canal of Arnhem, at the height of Eusebuisk Church and Stadskantoor, and made several proposals for greening this area and steps to achieve an overarching green structure.

Haitang River Park
The Haitang River, its surrounding dunes, and marshlands will become a natural landscape, in which urban, agricultural, and touristic functions are blended in harmoniously. From a sea viewpoint, one can witness the river gracefully flowing through a forested landscape, all the way to the mountains.

Active community participation drives the design of a mixed-use neighborhood in Düsseldorf
In the north-western German city of Düsseldorf, international architecture and urbanism office MVRDV and Rotterdam-based LOLA Landscape Architects are working on the development of a new social housing and community scheme. A project for property developer Cube Real Estate, plans for the “Grüne Mitte” development are rooted in the active participation of local residents. The design proposal includes 500 new homes, half of which will be either affordable or social housing, as well as community spaces created to elevate and reinvigorate the area.
