Homeowners, Caroline and Alan found themselves with an unusual dilemma. Should they relocate to Australia to enjoy its radiant sun and alfresco living, or stay in London? The new concourse and piazza create a dynamic addition to London Bridge Quarter.
As Europe’s tallest building, The Shard has dramatically changed London’s skyline. A crucial part of the scheme centred around creating efficient connectivity to the adjacent London Bridge railway station. A collaboration between Pascall+Watson and Renzo Piano Building Workshop was established to address this issue.
The development introduces a station approach via a generous tree-lined piazza accommodating a bus station, passenger set-down areas and taxi zones.
