Pavilion in the Garden

This project  transcends the limits of simple physical construction. It is a philosophical manifestation that seeks to establish a harmonious dialogue between humans, nature, and architecture. The central idea of this project is the pursuit of essence, purity of elements, and simplicity. Fernando Guerra - FG+SG Fernando Guerra - FG+SG Fernando Guerra - FG+SG Fernando Guerra - FG+SG The composition of pure volumes reveals a kind of modernist and minimalist "quotation," where each element has a precise purpose and contributes to the beauty and functionality of the space. The relationship with the surroundings and the garden is essential to this proposal, as it aims to integrate humans with the natural environment, cr... More

CASA DGR

In a late nineteenth century building, a few steps from Parco Sempione, an apartment on the first floor had lost over the years almost all its distinctive decorative elements. Allegra Martin Allegra Martin Allegra Martin The presence of strong structural constraints did not allow to meaningfully modify the layout of the rooms which has been altered starting from small gestures. In the living area, a flexible partition in black iron and fluted glass separates the kitchen from the dining room. Cadorna

A bourgeois apartment inside a rationalist building in Milan's Piazza Sant'Ambrogio that dialogues with different eras. Cristina Galliena Bohman Cristina Galliena Bohman The primary intention of the project was to distinguish the living area from the sleeping area, which appear both chromatically and formally different from each other. Cristina Galliena Bohman Cristina Galliena Bohman Cristina Galliena Bohman The atmosphere that pervades the living area is metaphysical, the round arches and flat backgrounds evoking timeless landscapes. Bacchanalia Restaurant

Bacchanalia is the eccentric restaurant recently opened in the heart of Mayfair, London, by Richard Caring. Giant neoclassical statues created by Damien Hirst, frescoes of Bacchanalia and stretches of marble mosaic.Naturally, SICIS. Caption For this unique project, we have made all the restaurant's floors in marble mosaic, drawing inspiration from the floors of Roman-era domus. Geometric decorations and floral ornaments in polychrome marble are applied entirely by hand. Caption In addition to the floors, we have completely covered the bathrooms of the restaurant, giving them a unique and recognizable style. Black and white marble for the men's restroom and a cascade of branches with golden apples in glass mosaic for the women's.... More

Tile Apartment

Located near Praça da Espanha, a bohemian spot in Curitiba / PR, the Apartment Ladrilho was designed to be the first home of a young couple.  Eduardo Macarios Eduardo Macarios The main challenge of the project was to find the best layout for the apartment's social spaces, ensuring enough storage space for the couple, without compromising the aesthetics or practicality of everyday life. Therefore, the main intervention of the project was the removal of the existing walls delimiting the kitchen and laundry room for a new layout arrangement.  Eduardo Macarios Eduardo Macarios The new design aims to maximize storage spaces, but still maintains the division between kitchen and living room, since the couple likes... GYST

Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue. The whole place is old, yet unused for years. The old stuff was kept as much as possible and it was not easy to deal with it: the marble floor had lots of missing parts, the concrete pillars were full of scrap from tile adhesive. Vladimir Mindru Vladimir Mindru The metal entrance door was a delight when it was brought back to light. The new is young and playful: a colorful artistic mural, pink tones on the central pillars, posters with bittersweet messages. The part we borrowed is the well-known Danish relaxation. We wanted it to be found in the bar’s atmosphere, like the owners transposed it in the served coffee and food. Unpretentious, but bold. The blue is... More

IMPULSE Braga

A sudden, strong, and often winning, need to do something describes the character of this new Portuguese brand in the world of fitness. IMPULSE has a unique identity, and its success starts with the motivation of those who created it and challenged us to develop its image. Braga club has 630sqm, the smallest of the three recently opened units, but the one best summarizes the concept developed for IMPULSE. Sobriety is in this club framed in a monochrome palette with electrifying notes in yellow, the brand's identity color. www.garces.pt Monochrome can be a weird word and mean different things. For us, it was a way to break through on another track. In times when the use of color can be so extreme and intense, we decided to explore an... More

Porta Vittoria

This house for a young couple required a renovation project based on light and materials. The original plan with living area, night area and attic was maintained but the previous unvarying appearance has been replaced by a journey along textures and colors. The bent metal sheet staircase is a perfect theatre wing into the living room, allowing zenith light to flood in. The imaginary line between living room and kitchen ensures natural light all day long. LOUISA

Vincent Van Duysen has designed Louisa, a set of round and oval coffee tables in which the presence of both wood and cement conveys an innovative tactile and aesthetic effect. The load-bearing structure, a conical central plinth, is raised from the floor and inserted into a space hollowed out within it. Transversal objects, combined at will, simply, lightly, elegantly: the quintessence of modern design. The table tops, a bit like suspended trays, come in ash or brick red cement or in eucalyptus wood and feature an original radial motif, achieved by means of a special procedure for joining up the slabs.   More

Chicago Sunset

CHICAGO SUNSET is an apartment in the same-name residential complex with a panoramic view of the city. Particular attention was paid to details, a vintage workbench and monstrously beautiful sunsets. On the verge of brutality and elegancy – that’s how we can characterize the spirit of the project. At the outset these were two separate apartments joined together with the division into the private and common zones preserved.  Caption Caption The common part of the apartment presents an airy environment, a real mix of textures, styles and finishes joined together in a monochrome colour array of the interior. Metal partitions that incorporate hand-made ribbed glass separate the entry space. A vintage workbench from t... More

bilo-CRM

The project re-evaluates a two-room apartment in the heart of Milan, in a 1960s palace. The objective of the renovation is to make the apartment as large and bright as possible. The constructive memory of the existing is not entirely lost, but enhanced: the Palladian marble and the Italian herringbone parquet are maintained and smoothed; with small punctual interventions the contribution of light to the rooms is enhanced. Virginia Lorello Architetto The 1960s residential building is one of the most common building types in Milan. At that time there was certain care in the selection of finishes, but the interiors reflect a culture of living that was totally different from ours. The apartment consisted of a small kitchenette, a small li... More

Wine bar TEN10

The prominent position of the bar in Pirgos, Greece, benefits from focused perspective views over the central town square, and its good orientation allows the use of natural light; this context, and the owners’ desire for clear, singular lines in the interior, provided the framework for the design elaboration. Caption The layout places the bar and the cellar in the middle of the composition, creating a memorable identity. The monolithic bar bench, made of natural stone in emerald color, and its framing by the wooden cellar, designed to be organically integrated into the space, is combined with the distinctive metal roof that mirrors natural light, entering the space through clerestory windows during the day. VILLA MM

An urban residence with an austere appearance, it dialogues with its densely built-up surroundings in a rough and selective way. Situated on a corner lot, it is on two levels organised around a central patio facing south, which brings natural light into all the main relational spaces. Alessandra Bello Fotografa It could be described as a house with two souls. Villa MM only shows its true kaleidoscopic essence once the visitor has crossed the solid sandblasted concrete curtain wall that forms its base. This opens up externally at the large telescope along the north front, giving a glimpse of the interior spaces. Alessandra Bello Fotografa It is surmounted by a monolithic volume of walnut travertine surgically sectioned with flar... More
