In the Roma district of Mexico City, four residential apartments rise up next to an ancient jacaranda tree.  Onnis Luque Steel planters run along a series of balconies that disappear between sturdy branches of purple flowers and hanging jasmine.  Onnis Luque A core system of vertical circulation divides the communal areas from the private ones. The building’s design is an exploration based on the traditional housing complexes and typologies of del Valle neighborhood in Mexico City; an urban layout where the street blocks feature pan coupé corners that create broad intersections. As a response to this specific situation, the scheme and building incorporate a diagonal sequence of spaces that transition from the public realm of the street towards the intimacy of the interior and private terraces and gardens. At The Table With Rapitae

"En la mesa con Rapitae/At the Table with Rapitae", is a three day ephemeral restaurant hosting 120 people simultaneously during Mexico City's most prestigious culinary pop-up event: Millesime Mexico by Millesime World. This is a collaborative work by Mexico City architecture practice, EDAA, with Multimedia Japanese Artist, Yupica, in which visual and multimedia art, culinary, and sound art by Chimi Jo, are blended into a unique, sober, but complex experience. Monolithic forms of Carrizal provide spacious private homes within tight urban constraints

Located south of Mexico City, Carrizal by PPAA (Pérez Palacios Arquitectos Asociados ) is a project comprising eight residential homes on the same site. The homes are entered through a common axis, which takes on the feeling of an internal street complete with dark stone paving and planted trees. BAAQ' generate inclusive living spaces that make best use of Mexico City’s urban and architectural heritage

Mexico’s BAAQ' Architects recently completed the restoration and refurbishment of the Dr. Atl 285 Apartment complex in Mexico City.  The original structure was built in the late 1960s for industrial use and the restoration was carefully designed to preserve the cultural legacy and heritage of both the structure itself as well as the character and history of the local neighbourhood.  Credit: Arturo Arrieta The site is located in the Santa Maria la Ribera neighbourhood whose proximity to the city centre has led to increasing gentrification and population density.
