Lily Avenue House
Lily Avenue House reimagines the narrow terrace typology through a careful orchestration of light, void and materiality. At its core, a central courtyard acts as a vertical void that draws daylight deep into the plan while enabling passive ventilation. Topped with a skylight and layered, louvred panels, it allows air to circulate while shielding the interior from rain. This void becomes a spatial anchor, pulling greenery into the heart of the house and dissolving boundaries between inside and out.

It’s a cold February morning and two architects visit a dark, dank and rather unsatisfying office | industrial unit as a potential first studio for a fledgling practice. Having laid empty for 2 years it wasn’t attracting the attention that the landlord wished but beneath the shoddy interior there was hope, there was potential. Here we outline the project that became the wr-ap studio.

Tiny office in Oslo demonstrates creative use of small space
Located in a former industrial neighbourhood of Bilbao, Oslo Cowork is a minimalist and compact office space designed by BABELstudio. The project and consequently the material selection is intended to create a balance of a bright, light-flooded, minimalist studio suitable for concentrated working while offering a calm, warm atmosphere.

The brief for Oslo Cowork integrates 3-5 working places with a meeting and retreat space, kitchenette and bathroom and an extended storage hall - all within a rather small 39 sqm floor area space.

Brazilian House cleverly navigates topography with multi-level volumetric design
In Salto de Pirapora, Brazil, this house by Vereda Arquitetos is situated on a 1000 sqm plot with an 8-meter slope from front to back. Looking out over a small ecological reserve and stream, the house comprises three buried masonry volumes with floor levels varying in accordance with the topography.

The three volumes house the kitchen and laundry in the first volume, the bedrooms in the second and the master bedroom with bathroom in the third volume, which is a mezzanine type space enclosed from the living room below by sliding curtain.
