The owner, founder of a well-known fashion brand—sought to revamp both the functionality and lighting of their long-standing home. Tucked away in a narrow alley in Hanoi, the property boasts a spacious plot compared to neighboring houses. The original structure was well-positioned, leaving a south-facing front yard that invites natural breezes. Inspired by mid-century home aesthetics and iconic furniture, our goal was to create an inviting and warm space that perfectly suits their needs. ALTA Studio Embracing the Bygone Gracefulness In the dining area, a teak wood feature wall sets the mid-century tone with its reddish hue and rhythmic pattern. It serves as a captivating backdrop for iconic furniture such as the Nelson Bubble pendant lamp, Knoll Platner coffee table, and Cassina Gerrit T. Rietveld armchair. This relatively new condo was poorly cared for with outdated décor. The new homeowner requested for the interior to be updated with a more efficient floorplan to suit their lifestyle. A simple, bright colour and material palette were introduced for a youthful and energetic feel with a touch of mid-century influence. Some simple fine-tuning such as relocating doors and adding millwork created a functional space and much-desired organization space. By repeating the material specification for the entire space, wastage was reduced to a minimum. Existing appliances were utilized wherever possible.
