Modern European

Situated on a large, private lot with wooded areas and water views called for a home that would embrace the land. In our Modern European home, we wanted to capture the beautiful views of the setting. Architecturally, the sequence and the volume changes of the individual spaces make it more interesting as you approach the house and walk through it. The resulting Modern European home, with a nod to traditional English Tudor homes, does just that. Landmark Photography Landmark Photography Topo LLC It has the massing of an English Tudor, the steep roofs and that stately feel, but it’s stripped down from other details like timber framing and other ornamentation. Large black metal windows, some stretching almost floor to cei... More

Rock House

The main idea behind this house was to create a perfect setting that can support and strengthen our minds and creative spirits. To achieve it, we aimed at creating an environment that is comforting and inspiring. We used a very earthy and a raw material palate for the interior space of our house to completely blur the lines between outdoors and indoors. We wanted our house to mimic a natural setting where we feel completely free – hence the name rock house!  Caption We wanted a space that was very lively and motivating and we achieved it by adding lot of plants and artworks to this raw background. By doing this, we ensured that these natural and artistic cues are always present around us.   To keep things effective an... More

GRAY MINIMALIST HOUSE | AB Partners

Strict lines underlined by chromatic simplicity. The project below illustrates the harmony between white, black and grey. We relied on experience and a play of textures that are highlighted due to laconic colour line, which dominates throughout the entire house. Large windows let the natural light flood into the interior and the absence of unnecessary details offers the feeling of freedom. Oleg Bajura The living premises were united in an open space designed in a single stylistic way, but also having close interconnection. While creating this premise, we aimed to create the possibility of isolating the kitchen. Thus, we opted for the use of sliding glass doors that ensure transparency. In fact, it becomes a premise that connects the i... More

Private residence, Foggia, Italy

This modern house with a magnificent view of the Apulian coast features modernist architecture that deliberately gives a nod to local building traditions in its use of pale stone for the dry-stone walls and the external paving, and the predominance of soft colours for the wall surfaces. Architect Ciro Alfredo Matarante, who oversaw this project, chose lighting fixtures with a 3000K white light for the outdoor areas, most of them in a white finish to blend with the colours of the main building and the guest annexes. The entrance to the house is marked by two staircases located on either side of the building: the one closer to the garden area is lit with Bright 1.B, in a double-beam version with 60° radial optics, and single-beam w... Whistler House

This house is 3900 square feet over three levels in Whistler, BC. The owners are a very active family of four and relocated from Vancouver to make Whistler their home. The primary focus was to develop a design that would support the outdoor activities and lifestyle of the family while ensuring that a sense of permanent - rather than recreational - home was created. Further, the house siting was to embrace nature, by engaging both the connection to mountain forest upon which it sits and the ski hill views beyond. The site is heavily sloped and there was also a desire to connect between indoors and outdoors on multiple levels. Southern exposure was to be utilized on the upper floor to bring much needed sunlight deep into the space on long win... More

Lakeview Residence

We were inspired to create our first authentic living space to reflect our client’s desire to live and work in his painting studio. The design emulates his painting style and personal lifestyle by using natural materials, minimalist values, and bridging social context within a live-work environment. The overall form takes on an ethos of monumental simplicity which inherently captures panoramic lake views from the steep mountainside terrain. As part of authentic living, this studio is entirely devoid of added paints or stains. The exterior walls are made of exposed rammed earth construction set atop a giant plinth of exposed concrete. The interior features natural plywood finishes and exposed structural beams. We focused all of our... More

White Alien

This is a residential interior design called White Alien designed by Amirali Bahmani at AAB ARCHITECT Studio in 2019. INSPIRATIONIn today's world, most spaces, including residential areas are not futuristic. The designer's goal was to create a unique futuristic space that would satisfy the needs of residents in addition to the visual appeal. PROJECT DESCRIPTIONIt is a residential conceptual interior design that fits the project's limitations such as area, floor to ceiling height, column location, shear wall, ceiling beam hanging, walls and installations. To make the space look simple and large, glossy white and black colors have been selected. Since the designer could not move up and down in designing the ceiling, a parametric two-dimensi... More

Beck St. Residence

A young couple took on a dilapidated historic home turned multi-unit apartment building to return it to a single-family home with a minimalist approach.  The structure was entirely gutted, basement to roof, and rebuilt with a minimum of elements.  A central open stair clad in translucent channel glass separates and defines living and kitchen areas, allowing light to pass between them.  Glass floor panels at each end of the stair at the second floor lend to its lightness.  Elsewhere, the master bathroom contrasts dark wenge wood with neutral mosaic tile and a translucent glass panel veils the shower room. The finished house is filled with a series of simple vignettes connecting space to space with filtered light, extend... More
