Kystvillaen is situated on the edge of the coastal landscape in Greve and extends across approximately 330 square metres. The house is designed with a focus on calm, rhythm and light, where natural materials and fluid transitions create a harmonious flow throughout the spaces. Large floor-to-ceiling windows open the house towards the coast, while terraces extend from the living areas, dissolving the boundary between indoors and outdoors. The villa is organised around a three-part zoning concept — private, shared and creative spaces — each with its own atmosphere and function. The project focuses on the renovation and transformation of the house’s exterior and the surrounding garden. The existing architecture is updated with new exterior elements, including a new terrace that strengthens the connection between the house and the garden. The garden is designed as a series of distinct outdoor spaces, each with its own atmosphere and function. Areas for morning sun, dining, relaxation, sunbathing, afternoon activities and evening gatherings are defined through planting, pathways and variations in materials. Located on the northern edge of Kerman, Iran, this desert mansion explores a contemporary interpretation of traditional Iranian residential architecture, combining vernacular climatic strategies with a modern architectural language. The design is fundamentally shaped by the extreme desert climate and the traditional distinction between summer and winter quarters. The northern part of the residence functions as the summer residence, incorporating a traditional Badgir (windcatcher) as a passive environmental system. Located on Palm Jumeirah in Dubai, this villa renovation transforms an existing beachfront property into a contemporary family residence shaped by light, water, privacy, and a precise black-and-white architectural language. The project begins with a new arrival sequence. Tall white architectural volumes frame a recessed black entrance wall, where the main door is concealed within vertical dark cladding. Rounded exterior corners soften the façade and introduce a sculptural detail that continues inside the home. Rather than starting from a blank site, this project began with a partially constructed reinforced-concrete frame that had been abandoned during construction. The existing structural system, together with an already-built swimming pool, established fixed conditions that could not be altered, transforming the project into an architectural exercise in adaptation rather than replacement. The villa typology, in this region, is often defined by four enclosing walls with terraces on one side—boundaries that organize and contain space. Starting from this conventional model, we questioned its limitations and possibilities. Through exploration and precedents, we decided to add the [+1] wall—an element free of the traditional expectations of walls.
